are those stickers or paint? i almost bought a headlight protection set that had the fog portion in yellow. i wasn't sure how it would look directly adjacent to my amber euro lens. (on a 968)

It's pretty much Lamin-X. Tinted vinyl. I did a horrible job installing it honestly as I didn't have a heat gun to make it stretchy. I've got enough to do it again but I'll take my time haha.

when i remade my shifter pin, i tapped a hole in the end of the pin and used a bolt and washer to hold the pin in the shifter rod. never had a problem with it loosening.

Got my car prepped for the DE season - new tires and fluids, including new gear oil, brake fluid, and motor oil. On April 2nd, I'll be traveling up to Lime Rock for the first DE of my 2011 season - I can't wait!

Default Began Cleaning the 968 intake... got a question...

Today, I started the process of cleaning up the 968 manifold I got off eBay last week. I want to clean it inside and out and the easiest way to clean the inside would be to remove the two plugs that are screwed into the manifold... anyone know how to get those out? Is there a special tool that Porsche didn't tell anyone about?

definitely hot tank, i wouldn't mess with the plug.

or put some gas in it and plug the ports and swish it around a bit, then repeat with degreaser, then repeat with dishsoap/water

oh hey you're in fallbrook...im in poway/riverside

+1

Or strong engine degreaser and steam washer.

That cap could become a problem.

i always just drop it off at a machine shop in poway, its $20 to hot tank something. parts coming back looking new. there should be a shop closer to you, maybe in escondido, that can do it. just tell them to use aluminum-safe solution

How about yellow zinc plating for the other parts? Any recommendations?
