I didn't really do anything to my car (except drive it), but I did get a new helmet for myself. I'm working on getting a fire extinguisher installed (my Momo seats/sliders are making that a somewhat complicated endeavor), and on September 17th, I'll be taking it to a DE for the first time.

I can't wait!

Yesterday I replaced the hood struts. One looked to be factory original (23 years old), the other was a weltmeister replacement. Much easier to do with 2 people than with just one

Today I drove it

Hobbled past it in my garage, and looked longingly at it Haven't been able to drive it for almost 2 months due to a broken left leg. My new rims should be here tomorrow though!

That makes 2 of us waiting for rims and the ability to drive, although you have a more serious reason than I do.

The rims to be delivered tomorrow...

I was tinkering around under my hood the other day when I discovered a hanging vacuum line. I am guessing it has been off since I bought the car over a year ago. A friend of mine identified it as the vacuum line for the heater control valve. After some research, and looking around the firewall with a mirrow, I found the open nipple. I replugged the line. The A/C is colder, and the car seems to idle better with the A/C on.

drove it, the hatch is leaking pretty badly, so i'll have to figure something out to patch that up.

btw, what the hell is up with the late 944 drip rails? i think they call them drip rails because when you open the door after the car has been rained on, the drip rail drips all the water from the roof right on you as you get in the car!

I got my 87 944 running put on a 968 rear sway bar a turbo front sway bar some 18 inch tsw wheels and 2 new tires. Oh and a new slave cylinder. Then I washed it because its been sitting outside for 8 months in the same spot. It was nasty. In a week it will get turbo brakes, zimmerman drilled rotors, a turbo front end conversion, ultra shield race seats, a roll bar and harnesses. Its nice to have lots of spare parts. I also have to start dropping the engine on my s2 parts car to get it ready to put in my 87 also. Its a good thing I got a week off coming up.

Same s... different day. Ordered more parts, clutch inspection rubber plug, cam shaft rubber plug, flywheel/bell housing cover, can you believe those things could actually be missing?
