So, I was just lurking through the forums when I saw the post about the Saratoga top on ebay.

"What's a Saratoga top?", I wondered.

Searched->Saratoga, found some pics... Hey! That looks just like the top sitting in the trunk of my car! And they got $700 for it!!! Woo hooo!

That would pretty much finance this whole operation right there!!! Anybody want it?

Let me know and I'll put up some pictures. It's not in perfect condition. The fabric around the top is detiorating all around and has given up completely in one section. Shouldn't be very hard to repair though. S/N is 555094. It has the cover as well.

Here's some pics.

You can have the Vizsla, too, but it's gonna cost more for shipping!

That is a factory bag and you may want to hold on to it for your new top. I would love to have that, but it is to rich for my blood. Good luck with the sale.

Black944 turbo: Thanks for the advice-- is the bag also inherently valuable? However, I've already got a body-colored sunroof on the car. This Saratoga was an *extra* top that was sitting in the back.

V2Rocket: why don't you PM me a price and your zip code. I'll try to figure out some details on shipping.

Wow, great score on the Saratoga top.

Kinda like that barn full of cars in Portugal, but this one's true

You'll want to be super extra careful when shipping... insurance would be a great idea!

Yeah, I ship a lot for work. Funny how often boxes with Cisco or Dell on the side get lost.

No, I don't believe the bag is very valueable and it is well worth hanging onto. Very nice find, as previously stated, one day I would love to stumble across one.

Well, it's been a while, so time for an update:

Since I last wrote, I've installed my oil pressure sender, installed rear-view and driver's side mirrors, replaced the windshield wiper motor assembly (what a PITA!!!!), changed the transmission fluid, replaced the torn inner driver's side cv boot, and gone to DMV to get registration and license plates.

So, with that accomplished, I went out today to fill 'er up with gas. It's about 10 miles to the nearest decent gas station, through some lovely, twisting roads. I gotta say, it felt nice! I'm sure she's not making 217 hp, and the rotors definitely need to be turned, but it felt really, really nice. Grand total to this point: $963, plus 79 hours.

What do you guys do in California? I can't remember anything from any of my travels there.

Sure do. I'm thinking it may be best for me to refurbish it before trying to sell it, but let me know if you're interested either way.
