Oil cooler finding its home back on the motor!

Remember this was full of crap from a mouse nest when I removed it - a lot better looking now and should cool better

Stopped by to see the car at Shane’s shop and wow - exceeded my expectations. The color is dead on - verified by the original Signal Yellow still in places on the car. This is a beautiful and unusual color. It is an ‘orangey’ yellow - headed towards Signal Orange with yellow in it. It is really hard to capture the shade in photos - Shane explained yellow is hard to capture correctly and that it changes in different lighting. I was so excited to see the car as I was nervous based on the pics I posted earlier.

I tried photos in different lighting, but these still do not capture the shade correct - but better than the earlier pics I posted. The last photo is with the paint booth lights off - you can see even more of the orange come through in that photo.

Here are some prep photos:

These photos don’t capture the color great still, but they are better than the earlier photos I posted. The car isn’t as yellow as the previous pics made it look.

Paint booth lights off - the Signal Yellow oranginess starts coming through more.

Highly recommend Shane East. Stuck to his estimate and came through with a quality job. Can't take those things for granted based on my various experiences with this project.

huge asset. The long tail always seems to be the metal and body work. I assume the paint prep as a result of you doing this prior moved things along for paint. How long did he have it?

He has had it since the end of July. He didn't have to do as much prep work - all of the major repairs and prep work was done by Andy, so that really helped the paint move more quickly. Sheetmetal work took a while and ran over the estimate, but in all fairness to Andy, the car kept revealing new surprises - these things like to rust and to get panels to fit right, you need a lot of metal work.

The car looks great! Well done.

Don’t forget to ask for touch up paint.

if you have photo editing software (and care about it) you can change the shade by boosting the red channel, cutting yellow etc.

enjoy the assembly!

Assembly hahhaa. Well you’re welcome to eyeball mine if you need to checkout any bits. Wiring should be a party.

Continuing to get identity back

Attached the rear emblems and grill - 2.5 badge looks good!

I opted to leave the underside of my aluminum decklid unpainted. Hey, it’s a hotrod.

Opted for the Carrera RS Lightweight/908/910 style hood decal instead of the traditional crest.

Attached the new VIN sticker
