You just have to be VERY CLEAR with the dealership NOT to mount it to the car. Remember that these guys prep Macans and Cayennes more that they do GT cars, and it’s just second nature to mount those plates. I have REPEATEDLY told them not to drill the bumper from the day I put the order in.
That was the one thing I told my SA explicitly when I had the date set to pick up my GT4. "Do not mount the front plate bracket!" He assured me he wouldn't and never does for any of the Porsche sports cars. When I traded in my 981 CGTS, I left the front plate bracket that was given to me in the trunk
@n4v4nod I think to do what @Klepper is suggesting is to mount this under the front lip not inside the center radiator opening... I personally would be very wary of trusting foam tape to hold a plate on at speed!
For me and risk the damage that would occur if it let go and the plate crashed over the paint going up or if went under these low cars has me looking at other alternatives.
Here are the pics on my old 718 CGTS. You can see how it doesn’t mount to the painted service. I have this on three cars, two of which I have had on track at 120mph+ and I have had no issues at all. Maybe there is no equivalent spot on the 718 GT4.

You are correct, inside of the center radiator opening on the GT4/SPYDER, the upper surface is painted and if PPF wrapped covered with that.
I have done this mod on several cars now and love it.
I would rather run plateless all the time but that's just not feasible in some locations.
On my Cayman, I made a magnetic mount using the OE bracket.
I trimmed the bracket so that it doesn't touch anywhere except for the magnets.
Rare earth magnets are installed on both sides of the bracket as well as on the inside of the bumper.
I also have PPF on the car.
A few pics...
InTgr8r, Great solution! Could you please post more info on how you got to mount the magnets inside the bumper?
Does the bumper have to be removed?
