SRS order confirmed 13th of May 23
Production date currently set early December 2023
Delivery +/- 3-4 weeks after
As I desperately wanted one (needed one) and I have 'no special relation' with the dealership, I deliberately submitted a no PTS / no WP build, as I heard through the grapevine this would dramatically increase my chances for an allocation
And yes, I made the short list at two different places. With one giving me immediately a 'commission number' with formal 'last change' date & 'expected delivery date' .
When I asked to contact me when the opened PTS, I was told this was not possible with the allocation I got as there will be no PTS production this year.

I can see how no PTS might increase your chances, but don't understand how no WP would make a difference. If anything a dealer loves when the customer has more options.
Nonetheless, congrats on the allocation. What colour did you choose?
I was told or read somewhere that - although it is not a limited production - production would be limited by the availability of the carbon parts (like air-intakes and so on)
Whether it is true I do not know, but I don't really like the WP anyway, so I did not take any risk and left it off
In fact, I specified the car with very little options and they couldn't care less. I'll guess they have enough profit margin on the car (& watch) already
Choosing the color was not that easy. Or better to get a coherent color scheme.
In the end, I kept it very simple and went for the guards red exterior (black windshield), standard artic grey interior & satin black wheels

Fair enough. I would personally spec WP, but I think it really limits the colours to choose from. To me all the carbon does seem to clash more in the Spyder design, compared to that of the GT4RS. Looks great, nice choice! For me it would be Vanadium Grey + WP. No WP, would be GT Silver for a more classic look. Good luck with build 👌
First, it does not save weight, with the SRS it is purely a cosmetic package
Second, price is stupid (15kEUR incl. interior upgrade)
If you pay extra for a cosmetic package, it should at least look good…..and to me it doesn’t.
I don’t particularly like the look of carbon to start with. With all the fake carbon tuning stuff nowadays, even real carbon now starts to look cheap ....
Next to this, as you said, the GT4RS can have it but for the SRS it is just ‘too much’. OK, vanadium Grey Metallic tones it down a bit, but also this color looks better without WP imo.
But main reason for me NOT to take the WP, is the mandatory interior upgrade.
Although I really do like Race-Tex (I have and had in other Porsche’s), a Race-Tex dashboard and door panels in a convertible is just complete madness .
And I also think that contrast stitching does not fit the car’s philosophy, either.
The WP goes heavy with CF, which I understand the shortage of is the hold up on the GT3 RS production at the moment. So I suspect, as much as some of us like the WP, it would put things on a hold.
This is my understanding and could very well change at a moments notice.

So, can I sort that sentence out to mean that you think ordering the WP on the SRS will delay it?

You can buy the set of mag wheels separately for nearly the same cost as the option, and keep the original wheels that came on the car. What I would do if I was getting an RS, regardless of whether you get WP or not.
I wish it was possible to spec WP with no cost to paint the hood. Seems dumb to me you have to pay 10k+ to paint the hood the same color as the body....

Free on the RS Spyder and 2024 4RS but for 2023 4RS's you had to take the car to CXX for 10k+ for painted hood or center stripe. Apparently factory couldn't do it along with PTS production but now that PTS production is not available the factory can do it.
