No one knows how many they'll produce or what pattern they follow. Year 1 might have the most production and year 2 having less with it split between the 718 R. 1300 GT4RS's were made in year 1 but no indication of how year 2 will go.

Not debating at all; nothing is guaranteed, as the past few years have repeatedly reminded us.

I’ll just have to suffer with my pretty darned near perfect current car. 😎

how could production be affected by a car that doesn't exist?

Don’t know why PAG wouldn’t crank these out like puppies; especially with Osnabrucke expansion.
My understanding was that the Osnabrucke expansion wasn't to churn out more 718 models though, it was because they were winding down 718 production at Zuffenhausen to make way for other (non 718) models.

Yes, allows more 992 production at Zuff.

We saw that in the YOY 2021 to 2022 982/992 numbers. 992 up by same amount 982 declined.

Point was it allows more ICE capacity for 992/982. Which allows line flexibility to crank out more special models and satisfy the largest consumer at the same time.

Nice, hope Porsche keeps pumping out more 992s including GT3RSs.

You mean the track cult won't be trying to Man-splain the reason it's a track car and should be only used as such?

they are gonna make plenty. spyder demand historically less than gt4 demand as well. should be fine for many who want one.

Been a couple weeks so I thought I'd bump this up.

Talked to a couple dealers today and was informed no allocations have been released into the system for US buyers. Even VIP customers can't be serviced in the US yet.

Maybe next month, which still easily translates to Spring US deliveries.

He did mention they received a bunch of 982/992 allocations last week or two so perhaps a few happy folks got an order in.

Good luck!

Same for Canada. Expectation is Sept/Oct for the first batch.

My old man is likely to grab one.

Since I'm committed to getting one I'm throwing out a pretty big net.

Of those GM/SMs I've connected with all say "demand will exceed projected allocations".

This is not to say that they'll be unobtanium. However, you will need a plan and/or relationship to secure one.

Of course, there are always those clientele that don't need to ask such questions because of their spend history.

What else would you expect them to say? They don't have a good handle on either demand or allocations.

Real demand is taking an allocation, not just expressing interest, getting on a list, or making a refundable deposit. And demand may drop if the economy slows.

As far as allocations, Porsche keeps the dealers in the dark, to foster a perception of scarcity and boost demand. I was clearly told by my GM "Porsche says no more 992 GT3 allocations, cancel all order demands," then a couple months later I was offered a "bonus" allocation. It's all a game, and we're being played.
