SRS order confirmed 13th of May 23
Production date currently set early December 2023
Delivery +/- 3-4 weeks after
As I desperately wanted one (needed one) and I have 'no special relation' with the dealership, I deliberately submitted a no PTS / no WP build, as I heard through the grapevine this would dramatically increase my chances for an allocation
And yes, I made the short list at two different places. With one giving me immediately a 'commission number' with formal 'last change' date & 'expected delivery date' .
When I asked to contact me when the opened PTS, I was told this was not possible with the allocation I got as there will be no PTS production this year.

Three Wheelin'
As said I’m not a WP fan.
First, it does not save weight, with the SRS it is purely a cosmetic package
Second, price is stupid (15kEUR incl. interior upgrade)
If you pay extra for a cosmetic package, it should at least look good…..and to me it doesn’t.
I don’t particularly like the look of carbon to start with. With all the fake carbon tuning stuff nowadays, even real carbon now starts to look cheap ....
Next to this, as you said, the GT4RS can have it but for the SRS it is just ‘too much’. OK, vanadium Grey Metallic tones it down a bit, but also this color looks better without WP imo.
But main reason for me NOT to take the WP, is the mandatory interior upgrade.
Although I really do like Race-Tex (I have and had in other Porsche’s), a Race-Tex dashboard and door panels in a convertible is just complete madness .
And I also think that contrast stitching does not fit the car’s philosophy, either.

That said, I am in the minority. I would be ordering a white 4RS since I don't like any of the non-PTS colors.

Wow thats great news. I was told it was 10K+ but if its free then I will def do it for my 4RS. Do you know if its possible to spec it on the configurator?

Yeah only new cost is 2k for the center stripe but painted hood is free in the RS Spyder config if you go Weissach. Rumor is though this won't be available/work on PTS cars if they open up PTS.

Depends on your location... Europe started first. Early cars for press and such start next month. Real production doesn't start until September. North America deliveries don't start until Spring 2024... do the work back and allocations won't be distributed until late summer / early fall.

Not saying the Spyder isn't desired by some, but lets be real.... this is an incredibly niche car with not much to be desired in terms of design or visual appeal.

With the rumored only 750 cars coming to the US, it won’t take many buyers for them to be Unobtanium here. (per a local dealer source)

I asked my Sales Manager and he said there is no such communication.

Might not be as many cars as people think. The Spyders are usually bought by enthusiasts who have or have had 911s and appreciate both. The average Porsche buyer prefers to buy a 911 instead of a special boxster. Once you eliminate that crowd plus the flipper crowd if they think they can’t make a profit on car demand might be less and cars will end up in hands of people who love driving their car
