There are a few things I feel could be improved but not in any form a deal breaker to me. Rebound rear could be less pronounced, but I just drive around it. The buckets aren’t meant for a 50yr old man. They’re meant for a younger person. Maybe the whole car is when I come to think of it…I should’ve gotten the sofas😇 The BOSE sound system is a scam. Unusable for listening to music on the go unless smooth tarmac and you’re just cruising, but hey it’s 70/30 a track/road car. Who listens to music at the track😂 Just wish I saved the 1500USD.
Agree with this too! Highway speeds car is loud on terrible NE roads. Can’t hear the music enough but a small compromise!! I actually tilted the buckets back with the adapter and it helped for road trips IMMENSELY!

My dealer is going to try to do the Manthey Alignment as suggested. Was it also recommended to lower car slightly like 5 or 10mm? Any recs would be appreciated!

Neither here nor there on paying crazy money to a dealer for the 'Manthey Alignment' as that means nothing.
However 5-10mm lowering will make a difference.

Comfort of the seats is a function of your body more than age. I’m 57 and have the buckets in four cars currently, had them in two other cars previously, and have always found the seats comfortable enough that I never think about the comfort of the seats, regardless of how long I drive the car.

Likes, Engine, short gearing, size, running costs, looks. no ediff, no RWS and buy in cost.

Dislikes , rear damping, the noise from 7 to 9k is too harsh to my ears and on track that's where you live.

I just need a set of MC or SSR dampers and I would like the car a lot more, I'll have to keep the earplugs in I guess.

Have you considered the dcs sport V3 module?

I don't want an active system or 140nm rear springs on this model now rather just buy a 992 GT3 now prices have dropped. Hence only option for me is sell up or buy some shocks, prob the SSR ones.
I am having the MR set up done on Monday and dropping the car 5mm all round see if that helps the dampers a bit, so will see how the car behaves on the drive home, known bad road but high speeds, then I have a track day Thursday. I will know then if I want to swap the car or buy some shocks.

How do you compare the 4RS with other Porsche GT cars you own/owned?

This 74 YO Boomer says the LWB are just fine. Your comments about the brakes being to big for 20" wheels is a pet peeve of mine. Wish they had the 380mm steel brake option off the older GT3/RS and GT4 so 19" rims would work.

not really into GT cars to be fair but I wanted to do a few track days again, I thought my 981 GT4 was dull. I had a 996 GT3, not for me, I then had all 3 Spyders, the 987 and 718 were great the 981 ****. had 2 Cayman R's amazing cars. just sold my 987 Spyder after 11 years for a manual 997 2WD GTS (THE KEEPER is fully modded Ohlins etc)
had a 991.2 GT3 manual which was great but I did not track it and thought it was too fast for the road. But it is a better road car than my 4RS is, I did keep that 4 years.

I daily a 718 GTS 4.0 PDK with SPASM, it's a wonder full car, reminds me of my Cayman R days. I also still own the 718 SPyder but thats being sold this month as I don't now use it enough.

Had normal 911's don;t see the point in them vs other brands, way too dull for me I always sell them within 2 months. 718 GTS 4.0 SPASM is a great sports car. I bought the 4RS for a laugh and I like mid engine cars . I wish atm I bought the 991.2 RS pre opf car to be honest over the 4RS. or now just be a bit mad and sell the 4RS and SPyder and pick up a Huracán Tecnicaand have a v10 for a change while we still can. Or buy a 992 GT3 touring with comforts and fit PS4S's and forget serious track days, been there done it anyway. not that fussed. Other outsider is sell the 4RS and 718 manual Spyder and fully mod a PDK 718 Spyder ie add a JCR exhaust and remap it to 460bhp. Or as i said keep the 4RS now I have it and buy some shocks for it.
I retire in a few months and also have a bad left knee hence moving to PDK cars but I do like the shorter gearing the PDK bought to the party. I will be having my knee sorted out though once I retire, and will always keep my 997 GTS 2WD manual car. 4RS was to be a bit of fun and it's not fun atm.

Agree, almost 52 here. Just did a 12 hour trip with the buckets with no issues. With the 18 ways I would start having pain in a couple of hours and would adjust settings of the seat to no avail. No pain with the buckets.

they need tilting though, the older folding buckets were much nicer to sit in and offered heating. The new ones are for fatter people. not helmet friendly and actually weigh more. so LWB is a joke. **** heavy seats imo.

I've got to make some alignment decisions by Tuesday of next week. it would be great to hear your thoughts about the MR setup after your trackday.

Did a MN to CA road trip in LWB's. They were wonderful. They work because they are supportive all around.
