Odin. I agree with you statement as Porsche GT car drivers are generally fitter and slimmer than the average population. Certainly something I considered with my post.

OMG, The arrogance and ignorance from both of you is astounding. As I stated previously, I'm a Harvard trained spine specialist. I understand the spine better than 99.9% of the population, certainly including you. Do you think my comment was made off the cuff (like yours)?
This is why I'm fortunate to now make more money from non clinical activities than medicine. It is exasperating to treat people like you both, who come in after reading a single medical article on the internet, and then proceed to instruct me exactly how to treat them? I find this more common in business owners and c-suite execs as they feel they are the boss of the world, and know everything because they get to tell their employees what to do.
I know at least one of you owns their own business. Personally, I would never speak with an someone about their business with anything but respect......because it's not my area of expertise. If the reasoning behind that is not obvious, then to use another medical term, you both lack insight.

Consider the possibility that one of the members that you are addressing is a board-certified neurosurgeon that has been doing spine surgery for 15 years.
Also consider that same individual is the co-founder of medical device company who just might know a thing or two about the C-suite you reference.
You sound like a douche . . .

We’re talking about how comfortable LWB seats are for different populations, namely people who buy this car vs those being treated by a spine specialist vs the general population.
If you have an opinion on that, make your case with evidence and arguments, rather than arrogantly making this a credentials competition. I’m pretty sure that spine specialists trained at places other than Harvard do not automatically defer to the opinions of those trained at Harvard …

I did a seating adjustment course back in the day, due to too many reps being off work due to badly adjusted seats.
the 718 lwb seats are too upright putting too much pressure on your lower discs in your back when really the weight should be spread over a bigger surface area down your back. Plus then you also rock more. 90% people also have too much lumbar. Shocking seat design esp as a bucket as they are too wide in the seat and not helmet friendly. Read that as totally **** seat and bloody heavy.
people saying they are ok must just be super fit and have an amazing core. Or so fat it just holds them any way.
the older folding buckets were much nicer and with a slightly more tilt built into the design, and the 996rs seats really cool, based on the recaro pole ofcourse, in my own keeper car I just use Recaro poles imo the best seat made and super light.

In terms of generalizations, his comment is true, we all wear down with progression in age, albeit at different rates, hence you will find a larger proportion in the 70 year old bracket intolerant to stiff, minimally padded seating than in the 20 year old cohort. Individuals that maintained good core strength, flexibility, posture, had minimal trauma and/or with some genetic luck /pain perception variability sprinkled in, will be exceptions.
The population that can purchase these vehicles is in the higher income/socioeconomic bracket, and given the higher correlation of self care and health awareness with higher income groups, it wouldnt be surprising if there is a higher percentage in the porsche group that can tolerate lwbs than the general population.

You guys need to quit worrying about tracking into your 70s. I started going to the track at 62 and I'll be 73 in a couple months. There is usually at least 4 or 5 of us old timers out there on any given day.
It's taken me a couple hundred days to get into the 1:30s at Laguna and 1:40s at Sonoma, both kind of bucket list things for me. I'm never the fastest in the open class but I'm not the guy getting in everyone's way either. I'm not in particularly good shape, I've had a few lessons along the way and use a Garmin (although I don't pay that much attention to it) so obviously I'm not that obsessed about going faster. The big difference to me, as the years go by, is that little voice that tells me to ski that black diamond, take that wave or brake a little later gets a little more muted each year.
As far as LWBs go Ive always been fine with them. I drove the 4RS from Palm Springs to Santa Cruz (8 hours) when I bought it and was comfortable. That's the longest trip I'll probably ever do in in a P car.

Good for you. It’s been about 3 years since I did a track event. Quit at 74 now 77 but I still enjoy driving in the Smokies. A 6 hour drive in my 24 GT4 RS with buckets and worth every minute.
Previously ran in Club Racing, HSR and NASA.
Met lots of good people along the way.

You need a lesson in humility . . . as well as one in the importance of not underestimating your audience.

This is an Internet forum, where everyone is hiding behind a keyboard and it's a not a face to face chat so the nuance of a sentence doesn't get across. He is basically just stressing about the point of him being a back specialist. An educated one, unlike 99% of the internet keyboard warriors.
I have dealt with him personally, Drifting is a nice guy.
