Thanks! I'm going to do some more research and in a couple weeks I'll give it a go!

So my yet to be delivered 24 BGTS 4.0, will come with 4 or 4.1? curious if I will have the CD player or not. If its as easy as coding, figure may as well enable nav, never know when you will need it, was never going to pay 2 grand for it tho!

Most likely 4.1. That's what my 24 GT4RS had when I picked it up.

I don't understand why people keep calling the 718 MY24+ PCM without CDPlayer 4.1...

4.1 is the fancy one in the 911s...
https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...rview-pcm4-1-/

I think it's just a 4.0 with a minor revision update?

Has anybody tried patching? or does the patch guarantee a failure?

earlier in this thread someone post a big warning to say not to try patching with the current method. No reason given but i'd assume that it could brick the PCM which would be no fun and not covered under warranty as it would be your fault. Apparently someone is attempting to figure out how to access the new PCM to give us AA and Navigation

I call it the CD less PCM lol. MIB AIO does not work on the newer PCM hardware revision 60

We are looking into this. We posted the warning because MIB AIO does not work on the newer PCM. Why would someone keep trying if it does not work?

As someone who works in IT, i'm the kind of person where if it doesnt work once, i assume its because i didnt do it right or it didnt work how its supposed to. Had i not read this thread at all i 100% would have attempted it multiple times on my incoming BGTS. I'm stubborn that way but also my job kinda teaches me to keep brute forcing code and eventually it'll work lol.

But i was telling the other user of the warning as it seemed like he didnt see it.

I work in IT and have the same thoughts too. The password for installing MIB changed. So no root access. That’s what I am understanding. Again why did Porsche release a new PCM just for 2024 or 2025?

oooh so the root password changed in the CD less PCM (I'm stealing that name btw :-P) ? I will have to explore that once my car arrives...

I saw that the latest verison of MIB has some more generic patching method. If root password doesnt work, then I suppose we can't use MIB or AIO at all...

I like that name lol. We are currently working with one member from 718 forum who has the updated PCM. If more members with the new PCM wants to help PM me. We are currently trying to figure out if an older version of MIB can be used. Also check the map version of the 2024 MY with NAV and see if it can be updated to the latest 2024-2025 map. I believe the preloaded map is from 2023-2024 but I could be wrong.

Default New Cayman 2024 Style Owner Question

Good evening Everyone! Very nice to meet you all! Newly proud owner of a Porsche Cayman 2024 Style Edition. Reading thru the forum, I understand my PCM edition might not be able to do the Nav retrofit? I do have PCM version MHI2_US_POG11,P5251
I do have the "cd less" unit. Saw also there is a compass rose on a page but facing the wrong magnetic direction😂

Vehicle has CarPlay, but I am looking into having my non optioned Nav retrofitted would be nice! Attached is a picture of the car! Check if my wheel center caps are properly aligned!😂

Magnific build 👍. We are making some progress. Someone will provide a backup of the new 5250 firmware to us.
