No one knows the future, but I think that 718 Spyders are a decent long term bet from a valuation perspective. The 718 Spyder RS is too hard to get, and too expensive for most people. Plus, the 718 Spyder only had about 2,500 cars produced for N. America.

Only two relevant dates are when you buy and when you sell. What my car's value does in the meantime doesn't matter but it is nice to own one that holds its value. I suspect prices will fluctuate based on available inventory and time of year but I don't ever see these cars crashing. They're too good and there aren't enough of them.

I dunno , PNH has been listing a lot of cars on here lately with little markup. And there are about a dozen Spyders, GT4s and 4.0’s on here that are not getting any interest at lower premiums than that. The market is cooling significantly. A lot of cars are coming to market, not just here but in the GT3 side as well, and those asks are declining too.

I agree. I am thinking about adding a Spyder to my garage at some point. I am the exact buyer you describe. I'd want a manual, heated sofas, and a bright color. I have owned buckets and if I wanted to climb in a difficult seat and drive PDK, I'd just jump in my Clubsport...
I've had it listed for several months, and have had an incredible amount of interest and many offers. However, I want to receive value for the full Akrapovic exhaust I added, and also for the Miami Blue color, which is quite rare. Obviously, not everyone wants to pay for that, which I understand. Also, I've been reluctant to sell, as I truly love the car. I suspect that is why a lot of the privately owned Spyders advertised don't move more quickly. What are you going to replace it with?? There isn't another Porsche (or XYZ) I would rather have, so it's not easy parting with the car. I imagine that is behind why some of the cars one sees listed haven't sold. I know that has been why I haven't parted with mine yet. But for anyone interested, I have finally decided to get more serious about letting it go, and dropped the price to reflect that change of heart. Not in a hurry, and will keep it if no one wants to pay what it is worth to me. I've had a lot of Porsches going back to a nearly new 1972 911S Targa that got me started in the 1970s, and honestly, the 718 Spyder is my favorite of all of them. Over time, I believe more and more folks will figure this out, and with so few available, they will eventually be harder and harder to come by. Probably more than the GT4, since you have essentially the same car, but with better looks (subjective of course) and the ability to put the top down, which is huge. Also, the 981 Spyder wasn't a GT car, and so there are fewer of the top spec Spyders to go around (I'm not counting the RS, since it is PDK only).

Yes, I understand about the track addiction problem. It can be serious! I don't have to worry about it any longer due to a vertigo issue which unfortunately prevents any serious trackwork with significant repeated high G forces.
