If I drop by the shop that he took the car to for the PPI on Thursday I'll try to snap some pictures.

Almost $13K below MSRP w/ low miles and PCCB; almost sounds too good to be true.

The ad says clean carfax but doesn't supply the carfax or pictures. The only Spyders that I found in my search that were "good deals" were salvage rebuilds, dealer buy-backs, or had the motor replaced by Porsche.

I just reached out to them as I'm searching for either a Spyder or GT4. I likely won't end up buying it because I prefer buckets but they will be sending pictures to me. They said it was a clean title and they just got it on trade it. Going to be a great deal for someone if all is true and is in good condition.

Can confirm price is $121,700, not $103,710. They said the system automatically populates it online as soon as they get it in but usually the wrong price until management corrects it. I don't know what trade in prices are, but perhaps that was the value they gave on the trade in.

Are connecting rod replacement engine cars worth a bit less second hand? Does the warranty not sort of wash with any concerns someone may have there?

I think some buyers would actually place a premium on the engine replacement cars because of the long warranty extension. Not sure if that's me or not.

To your point . . . Porsche put in a new engine before you bought the car, so what is wrong with a new engine after you bought the car???

I would personally be happy with the longer warranty, if I planned to keep the car. I might be concerned that it might impact resale value if it wasn't a keeper. There could be some ongoing problems if the dealer did a poor job of open-heart surgery - ongoing leaks, etc.

I'm just reporting what I observed. To me it mattered and I passed on the lower priced engine replacement car. I don't remember the specifics, maybe there was something else that I didn't like about the car, but for me it would have to be on the order of 10-15% discount to consider a car with a replaced engine. Probably the same mindset as dummies who are happy to drive to the airport but then are afraid of flying .
