PIWIS 3 Coding Retrofit and Feature Request

Hoping someone here might be able to shed some light: I somehow inadvertently disabled my backup camera w/ my Launch X431. I have a module called “Reversing Camera”, and under that a setting called “camera_on”. It currently has a value of 30kPH. I assume this should actually be 0, as in the backup camera comes on at speed min of 0. But Launch won’t let me change it at all. When I enter a new value and click “Wite Code”, it comes back “Write Failed”. Can anyone confirm in PIWIS that this seems like the correct setting to change?

Are you getting any errors when you scan? Is there a function to test the backup camera with X431?

👍 I have version 40.900 and will try to update mine to the latest version. The date stamp is the copied date. Do you know if the GT4 RS use a different DME mcr file? It would be interesting to see which version of PIWIS supports it. Cheers
Which car do you have?
Correction.
@rnlst_log pointed out to me that MCR files are used for coding and not reading the modules.

where did you find the code for the cluster lights always on? I hate when they are dark but don’t want my headlights on all the time.

I've looked at the Launch X431 several times and always get confused, there are so many different prices for different versions. Amazon has a 2022 model for $719, but another for $1199. And other prices in between as well. What version do I need? I currently have the iCarsoft POR V2.0 which is serving my needs for service resets on my 718 and Cayenne. But I like the idea of changing codes to enable some of the things talked about in this thread. It is not an easy choice.

I took the coding information from 718socal to my Porsche dealer to see if we could get the speedo / tach dials to be lit all the time. The service manager has been working with me on several previous Porsches when we "tuned" the cars, added exhaust / sport cats, etc. So, they don't have issues doing the coding to change out the unlit dials to be lit all the time. They tried it several times without success. Said they didn't get the long list of things to change just about 6 or so. There wasn't any "white dial" listing ... obviously in German. I read more threads here and saw (perhaps) more information to get this done. I'll drop by the dealership soon to see.
On another note ... When I start my BGTS the AC is ALWAYS on ! Asked the service manager about this and he said that's how it is. Can this be deleted, or am I missing something that is obvious?

"PIWIS needs to be in Engineering and not V diagnostic mode to code the cluster. By default the AC is always ON on my car. If you have the memory seats, I think it remembers the last setting with your memory button and key"
Thanks, Socal718 ... appreciate your help. I'll pass this along. I think they were in the Engineering mode. Perhaps there is something they were missing. I'll see if they can try again.

I managed to activate closing the top with the fob, which is available in most of the world but 'merica.
In the same page, comfort windows up and down. If you try to activate both the top and windows comfort access on the Spyder, the latter will work as they share the key fob (press and hold open or close doors). Useful for who prefers windows rather than the top or cayman users.
I also found a line that implies the OPF is monitored on this car (23 Spyder). Could someone compare with prior American non-monitored cars (20-22)?
Tried wireless CarPlay activation. Turned in 5ghz but made no difference. It could be hardware related as others reported.
