I'm keeping my 718 engine stock to appease the emissions gods, but the first order of business after it was shipped to me was I got it up to Rick to drop in 2-5 ratios and an LSD. 10/10, highly recommend. Here's what they look like out at Lime Rock (wish I had a track day with stock ratios to compare directly):

Perhaps I need to enact Plan B, get the gears shipped and do a local installation..

@burnergt4 Can you do a quick summary of the LSD swap, in terms of how it changed the behavior of the car?
Doing a 4.5 mod on a 4RS would be fiscal lunacy, but I guess some people wipe their butts with $$$.

In my 981 4.5L I had a Guard LSD basically for the entirety of my ownership and never could get why everyone kept talking about the rear end getting loose under hard braking. But then I took delivery of my 718 with the stock diff, and during some initial shakedown drives I figured out what everyone was on about (not even going very fast, we're talking from 50mph down to 20the amount the back end moved around was shocking). Had the diff swapped at the same time was the gears, issue solved.
There's a lot of chat about alignment and suspension bits taming the rear end instability under braking, I honestly think replacing the stock LSD with something more substantial goes a long way towards solving the issue.

But 4.5L is possible on them all. The outputs can not be compared but they are both very strong!
991.2RS PDK to 4.5L 537WHP on my Dyna Pac dyno
991.1 RS
991.2 GT3 Touring
Currently 992 GT3 Touring on the Dyno. 518 WHP and not finished yet.

718 4.5L GT4 with a big build(136k) and low miles(7k) with the full deman package just sold for 159k on PCarMarket, guess that's the new price ceiling on these.

And it was on 'reserve' so clearly the seller was expecting a loss. I think he was in it for close to $200k ($136 plus $54 to Rick plus Alpha)... OUCH. Maybe you gotta keep these things a long long time and get your fun out of them...

You guys are really making this hard, I thought that I had dodged the bullet when I didnt make to Parade last year (DeMan was an easy drive away), could have added a few days to that trip and had the swap done...
