GT4 RS Allocation Thread

literally, and i can not express this enough, do not care how many cars or allocations beverly hills porsche gets - some people have standards on who the deal with in life; dealing with someone like that is below me, others it may work out and to each their own

The way I see it…to get a GT car…you either have a “relationship” with a dealer or buy on the secondary market with an ADM. Same deal with Ferraris. To get a relationship, you gotta buy a bunch of Macans, Taycans, and other lesser stuff that will depreciate. Or you bought a 918, ten years ago. Once you are in the “club”, buying GT cars, then you spec the next one, etc. Maybe break even on your MSRP, each time you flip it to get the next upgraded model. The 918 guys made out like bandits, while the other regulars still took a financial hit along the line to get into the queue for GT cars.
If you pay the ADM on a specific car like a 4RS, and plan on long term ownership, I’d bet the overall vig is actually less. You either wait out the market and see where supply and demand lead the price curve, or you jump in the water.
My local Porsche dealership has a no mile ‘22 Ruby neo 4RS in on consignment. The seller is a 918 VIP. He wants 65k over sticker. The car is touted as PTS because Ruby was PTS when he spec’d the car. A month later, Ruby wasn’t PTS anymore. Bad timing for him. That car will stay bolted to the sales floor for a while. Unrealistic ask, but maybe that’s the DFW market.
As a data point…I found a PTS Viola metallic 4RS at a smaller market Midwest dealership. Friend tipped me off before it listed. Delivered two mos ago to original owner. Turned back in to dealer as the owner wants a Spyder RS. I was looking for a track toy and this car fit the bill…steel brakes especially. Elegant understated paint scheme. Sticker was 203. Higher spec car. Car has 1600 miles.
Stuck a deal at 240, seems like big ADM…but…car is CPO’d also (so a 6 year warranty effectively), has immaculate 100% PPF and ceramic coating, and was delivered to my doorstep in the purchase price. The add ons are things I would have to foot the bill on anyway (easily 10-12k)…so the ADM was 25-27k effectively with a lot of the legwork done.
I’ve taken a ‘16 GT4 and a ‘19 3RS to the track including PCA events at COTA. Looking forward to enjoying this car to the full extent. The intake sounds are insane!
