There would have to be test mules rolling around right now for this to be the case. The engineers have said on a few occasions that they cant get any existing MT to fit with the GT3 engine in the 718 platform, they had to redesign the engine just to get it to fit as-is.

Imagine if you were never serious about buying a 4RS and yet bitched on a forum everyday anyway? PTS went up $2000 from ($12,800) and the base price went up $4300. The price of poker just went up $6300 and the ADM will stay the same. Yikes. Nobody happier than me that more people will get a car. People bought them not because of the last year of production but because it's the last NA RS Cayman with a 4.0 Motorsports motor. Are you going to buy a car?

My guess, most people having paid an ADM aren’t concerned with the prospect of a 2025 extension of the build cycle. I know I’m not concerned.

Agreed. I am just happy to have a car coming, I don't care at all. Regardless, MSRP + ~$20k is also the current market value on the car...

Anyone who is buying this car, $35k should be a relative drop in the bucket. It's a $200k+ car....

OTOH, the majority of people who have money have a habit of caring about money and like to get good deals when they buy relatively expensive things.

The 4RS is the unprecedented end of an era. It's the old adage, "you gotta pay to play". ADM's only exist because the market enables them.

When he said it, it was true. They had to rotate and modify it to fit.

I was responding to your statement about $35k being a drop in the bucket for a $200k+ car. Being able to afford the ADM and being willing to pay it are two different things.

Yes, but it's a non-essential exotic toy. What you're willing to pay is immaterial when the market is already dictating it.

I'm not disagreeing about what the market price is. We're discussing whether someone should view an extra $35k as a 'drop in the bucket'. I can afford to pay any ADM on the car, but wouldn't have bought the car if I couldn't get it at MSRP.

Would you take a polygraph to that?

Sorta my position re GT4RS. I think in my head/heart the GT4RS is not $80k+ better car than my current Python GT4 and that doesn't factor in the $10k in wheels I would need to get for track duty.

Spouse just took delivery of a 2024 GT4 RS on Monday in Ruby Star Neo for $37.5k over. We were aware that in all likelihood production would be extended into MY2025, and we actively discussed simply not taking delivery of the car and waiting for an allocation on a 2025. In the end, we would have lost our $10k deposit on the 2024, and with the price increase on the 2025, we needed to get an allocation for $23k ADM or better to have it make sense to wait for the 2025. Do-able? Sure. But there's a lot to be said for being able to drive the car right now. I don't feel like we got a great deal on our car, but I don't think we got screwed either.
