Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...
Intermediate
My car has been at the destination port for over a month now. The dealer said they don't know when it will be coming in and they have no information as to when it will be released to the dealer.
Do we have any insights as to what is casing this delay? I was told a "software update", but 30 days for that seems a bit..much The dealer mentioned that they had 4 cars waiting at the port with no other info.

Got a locked in CGTS order scheduled for delivery late January. Should I trust porsche's timelines? what is the likelihood for the dates to slip? I'm okay if it does, just curious what kind of probability that it will. I'm on the west coast.

I'm also in CA and my order has slipped from middle of Sept to early Nov (for dealership arrival).
@biosphere Locked my CGTS order in June with the initial ETA of 16 November. Currently on track to take delivery 8 November. So it seems that it's fairly accurate assuming no major issues. I will say the TYD delivery date has jumped around quite a bit, at one point it was saying my ETA for delivery was 15 October.

@Y3H Wait, what?! Did I miss an absolute critical option? I spec'ed mine on June 20th with a freeze date of 7/2. I don't know if I have an electric steering column or not - it doesn't say anything about that and I didn't know they had changed it to not have them. But, I certainly would have paid $220 for it. Jesus, I'm paying $130K all-in for this thing and they're going to nickel and dime me outta an obviously desirable option?!
Edit: I am disappointed beyond belief. My configuration code was PRWWGNT5. Does not appear to have electric steering column. I absolutely cannot believe this crap. OF COURSE I wanted that! Can't even imagine that a >$100K car doesn't just come with it. I understand about customizing the car to suite yourself, but surely that ought to be part of the "premium" package. It's only $220, how can they be that cheap?

@BillLeeIII I'm in the same boat (metaphorically speaking) as you, my freeze data was also 2 July. Back when we spec'd it wasn't an available option. They only added the option for an electric steering column like a week or two ago. Apparently it used to be standard pre-COVID, but due to chip shortage they removed it, and are only just now adding it back in (for the 718's). I'm quite upset about it too, my 2001 5 series had it standard, so a bit silly that a 2023 Porsche wouldn't. Definitely silly, but for anyone that can still change the of spec their car, here's your notice haha.

I just saw that but my lock date was 9/19/23 and I was just told no changes allowed.
I'm hoping that they have that comfort entry feature on the GTS that my 981S had where it backs the seat up a couple inches for easier entry/egress.

@Dee Pee If you ordered motorized seats you should have it. My 2023 came in late June and has it. I love it, but like @BillLeeIII said it sucks to not have the motorized column to go with it. Porsche was willing to retrofit the coulumn (at least for a very little bit) back when the chip shortage was the reason so it'd be awesome to be able to buy a dealer-installed package these days to get it installed.

I got the 18-way seats!
I might retrofit the column if it's available someday, though.
I've got a manual column in my 1M...and since it's my temporary DD while I await my next Cayman, I've gotten used to it.

My 2024 Cayman GTS got to me in late August ( 069 last of the Vin so early model year car ) and the steering is manual. Manual is both telescoping along with up and down movement and frankly I prefer that , since the car will be tracked and every little bit of weight out of the car is good. Of course I have the CF full buckets, so I am into manual operation of virtually everything , ha.

Apollon Leader and RCC Amsterdam
It looks like these 2 ships will arrive to San Diego a day apart from each other. According to the San Diego port schedule, Apollon Leader is making another stop at Long Beach after Oxnard. Let's see which will arrive first. My car is on RCC Amsterdam, missed Apollon Leader by a couple days.

My Freeze Date just went from 11/10 to 10/26 - locked. My dealer warned me this could happen. What REALLY sucks is based on that timeline, I could have gotten the Natural Leather - but they couldn't put it in the system cause of the original production schedule. Now I get to have a convertible in Chicago in January!
