Congrats!!! Very nice spec, beautiful. How long did your build take? There is a bunch of us waiting just on the stripe on the 4RS. I can't wait for mine to arrive but has been delayed 3 times already.

 

My CGTS has finally left the German port, headed to Texas. ETA of 8 November.

@A4nut oh man, that wait has to be painful. Mine arrived at the port on 28/9. Wishing the best of luck for you, hopefully it leaves the port soon.

 

A happy day! My BGTS has finished production, I put in my order on October 30 2021, and the wait was killing me, it didn't seem like an allocation would ever come, so I figured I'd buy a used 718 to tide me over for the summer of 2023, I screwed up and bought a 991.1 GT3 RS instead (which I can't see ever selling), but it's done now. I guess delivery will be in the winter, so I'll learn how to drive it the best way possible, in the snow!

My fleet will look something like this come mid winter;
2024 718 Boxter GTS 4.0 Agate Grey Red/Black interior
2016 991.1 GT3 RS Barney Spec (UltraViolet)
2014 Mercedes Benz E63S Wagon Frosted Silver
1984 911 Carrera ROW spec Pacific Blue Metallic

And a Spyder RS on order, unlikely to be filled, but hope springs eternal!




Questions for the experienced crowd here;

1) I know some people have cars delayed waiting around for missing parts or such, but if this doesn't happen is it likely the car arrives before the end of January? I'm in Toronto, so input from fellow Canucks is even more valuable than from our American cousins (I need to clear out some space in a garage I'm renting)

2) Am I the only knucklehead who plans to drive one of these in the snow? Near my daughter's after school care is a wild 981 Cayman that sees winter duty, and that car is my hero! If anyone out there has driven a 718 in the snow, how is it?

3) has anyone driven both a 718 GTS 4.0 and a 991.1 GT3 RS, and can compare the PDK? The only thing underwhelming about the RS is the PDK doesn't seem as fast/awesome as I expected, maybe I expected too much from reading about it in the press, I do acknowledge that it shifts faster than my '84 Carrera's 915 gearbox (LOL)

 

Boy, don't like hearing this. My BGTS was completed on 9/15 and got to the port on 9/20. No updates since then. I thought 21 days in port was a long time before loading on a ship until I saw yours which would now be at 33!

Can't quite figure out the ship schedules to determine when the next ships would be loading and the expected final delivery date based on that. It'll be going into Jacksonville, FL. Original expectation was on ship 9/21 and delivery on 10/20 if anyone can help me guess...

 

Don't have answers to your questions but would you mind sharing when you went into production? I have a BGTS also coming to Toronto and apparently entered production on the 29th of September, but Track Your Dream is stuck and there has been no update since "Freeze Date"

If it had left port on 09/21/2023 like they estimated, then they were saying it should be in ATL on 10/20/2023.

Like a lot of others around here my production was faster than the estimate on the website, it went into production on Sept 15 and exited on Oct 10 they estimated end of production on Nov 2, so 3-odd weeks faster. From what I understand, some options may slow down the process, but my build had quite a number of "Porsche Exclusive Manifactur' options, so maybe a 4ish week build would be a bit higher than the average for a less loaded up one.

It's pretty dry in Toronto, I'm always on the alert, but outside of the dealership floor, I don't think I've seen any 718 GTS 4.0 cars, one GT4 and one beautiful Spyder (which happens to be my brother's). Not that anyone will notice, but our Boxter GTS' will be pretty special here.

 

My freeze date just ended yesterday for my CGTS 4.0 and I’m off to the next milestone! I read that recent CGTS 4.0 have been finishing production almost a month early. My CGTS 4.0 can possibly finish production by early/mid November? Or does my timeline look accurate. So excited!!

 

My freeze date was about two months before production which started on Sept 15 and just finished on Tuesday, it was les than a month to complete production, hopefully your car will start production on schedule, and it will be done in mid November, I guess.
