Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...
@doug_999 Manual! The T I had ordered was manual also, sometimes I regret it but I think this might end up being more fun!
@Bearrun21 Ever since I changed the colour from Arctic Grey, I am even more excited thinking about it so I definitely made the right choice!
In bad news...Porsche Canada had to move some allocations back apparently and mine is going to be delayed from a December build to a March build. I have a feeling it's because of my relatively low level of spec. I "only" have $11,000 Canadian in options to keep me under certain luxury tax thresholds. (adding $60 of options would increase my tax bill by close to $15,000).

@Y3H and @Gregonater , as an emotion check with your color decision, tell yourself that Porsche has 'canceled' Ruby Star. You'll know right away how pleased you are with your selection.
As a guy who passed on the 'true' Mary Kay color--a GT4 in Frozen Berry Metallic, I've still not forgiven myself and probably never will.
Congrats to both of you.

It's 20% on the amount over 100k. So subtract 100k from your price, and then you pay 20% lux tax on that amount. Sales tax is then calculated after lux tax (such a scam).
Only once your car is over 200k, then it's a flat 10% on whatever the cost is.

Yeah my buyer is patiently waiting and asking for updates every week...
I really tried making peace with everything that happened, but just couldn't.
I am sure I will regret this in the future, and I don't completely rule out getting another used Spyder or a new GTS before they go out of production - I just don't have it in me to keep this particular car.

I was supposed to take delivery of my CGTS around Christmas but the build date and delivery shifted as well. Now it's not arriving until 2/3/24.
What pisses me off is that they offered ED at Leipzig on 2/29/24, then rescinded it. I passed on Stuttgart. They also re-added the electric steering column a couple days after my build froze in Oct and I can't add that on again.
Overall, not a very happy buying experience for me and I'm half-wishing I just stayed in my 981S at this point.

Sold it when I ordered my CGTS this summer.
My SA advised I get it on the market sooner rather than later due to the tougher time selling in winter and interest rates being so high.
After all was said and done, 63 months of used car ownership only cost me a couple hundred a month. I got lucky and bought at market low and sold at a market high.
They flipped the car in 12 hours apparently as it was very desirable being a low-miles MT with full options and all records. Plus I'd just had new tires and the major service done because I wasn't anticipating getting a CGTS allocation at all.
I'm "suffering" in my 1M right now until the car arrives in early Feb. Luckily I work out of town most of the time so I won't be putting many miles on it.

The lux tax doesn't work like that unless I'm misunderstanding your situation.

edit: I did realize though it wouldn't go up $15,000, I was confusing a higher spec'd build that I originally had. If I add $60 of options I would increase my tax amount by over $6000 though. The only option I "want" is the 18 way seats, where I stuck with the base seats. I decided the seats were not worth ~$10,000. (option price + the extra tax)

Picked up my 718 yesterday and really enjoyed the ~4 hours drive to the SF Bay Area.
The timeline was:
7/20 production started
9/1 finished production
9/18 left the German port
10/28 reached Benicia, CA
11/5 reached the dealership
11/11 delivery day!

what a beaut! Did you notice if you got the old or new Porsche logo/hood ornament?
