I wonder if they upgraded the Bose since 2017. I rarely turn the system on, but when I do, it should be good listening.

My build is scheduled for the fourth week of July. Here's to hoping it builds one week sooner to avoid the August shut-down.

Congrats on snagging the allocation and bold color choice. I'm in limbo on what I thought was a locked-in allocation that turned sour. The upside is I'm hoping to see some real-live CGTS's in Shark Blue before it's time to lock, whenever that may be.

I was on the fence with my Spyder build about the Burm. In the end, I left it off - and just ordered the car with the regular old Sound Package Plus. I'll be buying a speaker and amp kit from Musicar NW - they make a complete, drop-in setup for the SPP cars for something like $4,500 that'll sound better than the Burm. If you're at all handy (I am) it's DIY'able with some patience for removing the door panels to swap in the new speakers.
BOSE did an amazing job on the C8 Corvette system. It sounds very un BOSE like.

However, with the 718 platform, especially the GT4/Spyder, as long as you can crank up the volume and not have it all distorted and you can get it loud enough to overwhelm the intake and exhaust sounds, that is enough. The cabin is too loud for any critical listening or to get any high end listening done.

I had added the Musicar Tweeters to the 991.2's Bose system, and it did help. I'll never forget pulling those ultra cheap plastic tweeters. I guess they never thought somebody would actually see what a rip-off it was. Anyway, that's good advice.

The "bold" color choice was a tough battle but I finally won. I actually think this is going to look great on a Boxster, and it reminds me of two Miatas I owned, both Mariner blue, that I loved. I'd still have number two if it weren't for moving overseas for eight years. It didn't make sense to let the car sit. Here is a pic of one of my buddies driving it following me in my TR6. Those were fun days that I hope to recreate with this Boxster.

What’s your experience with the 14 way Power Sport Seats? It seems that most people find the Sport Seats Plus more comfortable due to the side bolsters in the lumbar and seat areas.

I went to 18-way with Sport Tex in my 992 C2S. I find that they are not as comfortable for me as the bottom is narrow and doesn’t leave much room for adjusting yourself in the seat. Actually, the rubbery nature of Sport Tex prevents it. I have a medium frame, so not sure how a large or husky framed person deals with them. With the side bolsters, I needed to lift myself up and out of them. However, if you are doing occasional tracking or carving through tight mountain passes they would be very helpful. You should go sit in them and see for yourself. I wont ever have them again and one of the reasons that I bailed early on the 992.

Also, I learned that vented seats provide more comfort in warm weather, although the Sport Tex non-vented seats had more cushioning. In hot weather, Sport Tex is warm and think that alcantara must be similar. Leather is better for re-positioning yourself while driving long distance, and 14-ways provide more seat space to move around.

I am surprised not to see snarky comments about my soft build. PASM and 14-ways, lol. I prefer a bit more compliant ride and ground clearance on Northeast roads from the PASM and the additional .39 inches. PASM on S+ mode on my 992 was just fine for spirited driving. I have built this for sporty country drives and no tracking.

I’m also someone who has 5,000 miles in the 18 way seats but decided to spec 14 ways in my new GTS 4.0. I’m 6’0, 215 pounds with big legs. The 18 ways always felt too tight with the side bolsters, no matter how wide I adjusted them.

Someone here once said you sit on the 14 way seats but sit in the 18 ways. The 18 ways only work if you fit. Really recommend trying each seat out at length before you buy. I do think 18 ways adds to the sporty nature and feel of the car but for a non track driver like me comfort is just more important.

My delivery date is bouncing all over the place. On 4/17, it was 8/27. On 5/1, it got pulled IN, to 7/30. Today, it is pushed back out to 9/10. All the while, my lock date has remained at 5/26. Last chance to go PG, but I think I will stay SB despite the fact that this will be a common color for MY22.

Congratulations! That was a mighty long wait. You'll have to pass down your V070 crown to the next guy.

I went V260 (Enter Production) near the beginning of this month (May), with Emden entry expected by now and expected dealer delivery (North America) in July. I don't have memory seats, so I figured I was safe from the chip shortage. Unfortunately I just learned that I won't exit production until August and my delivery has now been pushed to *September*. Seems like the longest time a car has ever sat on the production line. Anyone know what's going on?

Hematose, you’re not alone. No idea why. Curious, did you spec Burmester?

No, Bose. I got all the other electrical upgrades on a Spyder except Nav and illuminated sills though. Maybe one of those caught me up. Any way to know if the order will be converted to 2022, or would I have found out already?

Presumably a shutdown at the factory would be big enough news that it would get out.

How are you tracking your calls progress, just bugging your SA constantly?

My CGTS was to make v250 last Friday with v260 this Friday. I’ll update the status shortly.
