Cool to see you compiling this data halfmonkey. Are you able to share the mix of the 4 models so far? For example, how many cars total, and how many are CGTS, BGTS, GT4, and Spyder? I'd be interested to know and this seems like a good representative data set!
Kuddos to 1/2Monkey for a great job setting up this GoogleSheet. Check it out. You can sort the entries by type - so far I counted the following
Congrats on moving to the next phase. I know how the wait is painful but glad to see you're not affected by the suspension or con rod fiasco. It won't be long now. Hang in there.
1/2Monkey - your Googlesheet shows a May 28, 2021 delivery? Did you get it?

Thanks for sharing. I've updated your information. Can you also tell me what interior color you went with?

Thanks for sharing. I've updated your data. GT Silver and Classic interior is...well just classic.

I'm in the early stages of starting to seriously consider trying to find an allocation for a GTS 4.0, probably in a year or so (so long as they keep making them).
Does anyone happen to know: how close is Carmine Red to Ruby Red (circa 987 Caymans)? To my eye they're pretty far apart, but I haven't seen Carmine in person.
EDIT: the more I look, the more I think they're *very far* apart. So this begs the question: Do you think Ruby as a PTS would look good on a GTS 4.0?

I think Carmine Red is still in production so you should visit a dealer and view it in person when inventory becomes available. For Ruby Red, I suggest visiting https://www.rennbow.org to view some picture samples along with any other red you might be interested especially if you're considering PTS.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm a bit of a weirdo in that I think some colors were just MADE for specific body lines. I was in on the bidding for this 987 Cayman but in the end, I let it go. I saw the car in person. That paint in the sun was mesmerizing to me, but I'm not certain it's......aggressive enough? for a GTS 4.0 with the much more aggressive styling from a 987.
Later this year I get to stop paying the stipend to my ex-wife and I got a very healthy promotion this year as well, so I'm considering entering the market, as it were.

Went with black interior, extended leather, deleted racetex.
Hoping I can PTS my CGTS. The SA sounds optimistic. I'm considering metallic and non-metallic greens such as Porsche Racing Green Metallic, British Racing Green, or Brewster Green. I'm wondering whether a metallic or a non-metallic is easier to maintain. Questions I'm considering are
Which is easier to keep clean?
Which is less likely to show chips and swirl marks?
Which is easier to match if it has to go to the body shop?

Not weird at all. There clearly are colors that look better than others depending on the body lines. IMO Exhibit A is Guards Red which is a classic, iconic Porsche color. Looks fantastic on almost everything up through the 993 but not nearly as good after.

Good luck with he PTS. Fingers and toes crossed that you'll get it. If you haven't checked it out already, make sure you visit Rennbow to check out samples of the various PTS colors.
As far as your questions...
1. I wouldn't say that it's easier or harder to keep a metallic vs non-metallic clean. I'd say that's more dependent on the lightness or darkness of the color, more-so. Such as silver (light color) being easier to maintain vs black (dark) requiring much more maintenance since it shows dirt much more.
2. Again, I would say that is more of a light vs dark, IMO.
3. I would say non-metallic should be easier to match because if you fix a metallic color, there is the metallic element that you have to include, not just the actual paint.
4. Same with touch ups. In my experience with metallic or even pearl colors and touch up paints, there would one bottle for the base paint and one touch up bottle for the metallic or pearl effect and then the clear coat touch up bottle.

Thanks. I've looked at Rennbow quite a bit but really need to see them in person. I booked a visit to the PECATL for tomorrow to look at the wall of PTS samples.

I'd say that would be your next best bet to view the colors in person.
