LOVING IT! Obviously, I'm a little biased but still! What color stitching did you go with on the inside? PCCB and silver are perfect since no brake dust. I have platinum and didn't know how much dust the standard brakes shed. If I had spec'd silver with standard brakes, the brake dust would drive me INSANE.

Are you doing ppf and ceramic?

Question for the group.....What have your deposits ranged from? Dealer asked for 2.5k up front and now that I have an allocation that locks 8/31 they are asking for the difference of whats already paid to get to 10%......and non refundable. Is this standard? or is my Dealer just greedy at this point?

Every dealer and their associated GM is different. In CA, your deposit is refundable. My SA asked for a deposit anywhere between $1k and $5k (my choice of how much) and no more until my car arrived and it was time to sign papers.

halfmonkey - Interior stitching is yellow but I went with the black seatbelts, ppf on front bumper only, no ceramic.

thuggo - Zero deposit but this is the 4th ordered car I've bought from same SA.

15k, non refundable provided they get it delivered this year. But:
PTS (and maybe LTS), at MSRP, and I've never bought a car from them before, and phoned rather than going in. I understand why they want some surety that Im actually going to complete. Not everyone may want a car with my spec, thats well into base 911 prices, for largely aesthetic options.

I paid nothing until an allocation was there and then it was a 10% non-refundable payment after.

My dealer did this the other day too. I took it as common practice, but each is a bit different I believe. I did my $2,500 earlier than allocation to get an order demand. The next month, which was a new quarter, we got an allocation.

My deposit was zero until an allocation was officially in hand. After the allocation was secured it was $5k because the car eclipsed $100k. Would have been less otherwise.

EDIT Note that I was a first-time buyer.

FLCAYMAN, same with me. I also think since that this was my first new car purchased from this dealership and the fact I had just moved out of the authorized sales area for the dealership combined to lead to them to require the $5K deposit. It's just such a long wait, considering that I was on Allocation hold for 6 months too...

There's no doubt this is a business where prior relationships matter. My SA offered to take just a $1k deposit, lower than normal, since I had bought two 911s from them before plus I use them for service and attend many of their events. But I was worried with the small number of allocations trickling in I wouldn't be taken as seriously as others possible buyers if someone at the dealer making final allocation decisions didn't know me and wanted it to go to a more committed buyer (if their only evidence was the deposit amount). So maybe I am an oddball but I insisted they take their "normal" $5k deposit with my demand order so I was on an even footing with anyone else coming in. it was always refundable though. There was nothing more required when the order locked last week.

The times I have heard of where a dealer required a larger deposit and made it non-refundable was when a car was specced with a unusual configuration, or a super-loaded configuration, where they could have a hard time selling it if the original buyer walked away or failed to get whatever loan/lease they needed. The extra deposit money improved their options to sell the unusual car at a discount later to get it moved, when otherwise they might get stuck with it for a while.

$1k to get on allocation list, fully refundable. 10% due when (if) I get an allocation, non-refundable. I think that's pretty reasonable considering I've never done business with the Porsche side of the dealer before (bought an Audi from them years ago).

Yep, it can be a wait. Allocation in Dec and delivery last week. Sooooooo worth the nearly 7 months.

I’ve had two deposits in two states. First was $5,000 non-refundable when I was v200. Dealer agreed to refund it when the stop-sale hit.

Second was $1,000 to be first on the list for an allocation. An additional $4,000 when I got an allocation. All refundable.

I think there’s a big difference between the east coast and the west coast on these things.
