How does the sound level compare to your 991 GT3 street headers paired with OE center muffler? Similar sound volume? I assume the 718 muffler reduces volume more than the 991 center muffler since the 991 OE setup also relies on side mufflers to do some work whereas the 718 doesn't have a true side muffler.
So far the OE muffler doesn't appear to be much restriction and a full muffler replacement is mainly about sound. The 718 uses the OPF as a way to reduce sound as well, so the stock muffler doesn't have to do a lot of the heavy lifting in that regard. Best to hear it, I've learned over the years that describing sound quality or volume is like trying to tell someone how salty your food was last night, almost impossible as it's a personal experience. That said, video is linked above.

thanks Jamie!
followup question
any possibility adding bmc filters and x pipe exhaust to the street headers will make the car yank power or throw codes?

BMC not likely, we moved the primary lengths back to a region it could deal with so the small changes BMC or the crack pretzel would make won't influence that.

Waiting on m-engineering to come up for air with shift sector and a few things. I don't believe ECU tuning will be exceedingly popular, that said we will continue to pursue it.

Thank you for continuing to pursue it. I agree it won’t be very popular. I couldn’t care less about warranty (local service departments are so sad that I use trustworthy indie shops for everything). I plan on street headers, crack pretzel, and ECU tune all together when they are ready. Please keep up the great work!

And if I need a new engine at some point, I see that as an opportunity to build something even more special.

Just so I am clear what is in the "box" that remains on your OPF delete pipes? Just an empty space?

Also why does the 982 system not have the extra "dead pipe" like your 981 system does?

I've been holding out on buying a system for my 982 GT4, waiting for yours to come out.

The catalysts are generally where the OPF used to be.
The dead pipe was due to using the factory mounting locations and not having enough length for the primaries. By eliminating the factory OPF pipe as a constraint to attach to, we’re able to make the headers longer and make the power we wanted!

find it strange no remap and exhaust mod yet for the 718 GT4. As the oem torques capped to 420NM, a remap and a new exhaust should see >440NM and 450 BHP for quite a small out lay.
ATM the car seems pointless with add ons with no remap to unlock the oem cap unless you just want noise.

There is still a lot of power to be unlocked if you read on the forums with bolt-ons. I wouldn't map my GT4, and I think there are quite few people that do due to warranty and other issues.

30whp from our system is definitely something you can feel. If you want an ECU tune many can bench flash it.

Curious, some competitors are getting dyno measurable power/torque from a cat back exhaust system. Are you saying that's bogus?

My comment was more that we didn't expect the stock muffler alone to be a major impediment to making power with our headers... Removing the OPF and other items should allow a bit of power to be had, but those things alone won't get you serious power gains at high rpm.

As a general rule we don't comment on other folks results. That said, we have recently installed a GT3 muffler on the 718 GT4 to test dB reduction at a recent track day and were pleased that the car did make a few more HP when we dyno'd it and sounded more GT car like to our ears. We're working on the CAD over the holidays and will get it prototyped in 321 in Q121.

Thanks,

Jamie
