Default Dundon "Making the 718 GT4 Faster"

Hi Guys,

We've started a little YouTube series on the development of our 718 GT4. The premise is to use track, a pro driver and an amateur driver and do our best to quantify the modifications we would do to the car to help make it faster.

We're still designing the power and exhaust mods and as is our normal, taking our own approach to it.

Here's where we're at so far... Episode 3 is coming up, spoiler, we only had 1.5 sessions to test the car with the pro as the weather was crap after the Emotion Engineering Suspension Arms, Motion Control Suspension Dampers and AP Radical Brake install. Still dialing in the suspension... After we're happy with the suspension, we should have the Splitter and Verus Swan Neck Wing to run.... Then finally our power mods...

And for those wondering what the car makes on our dyno...

Thanks for sharing this. I have a lot of the Verus stuff on my track BRZ. If the GT4 becomes a more frequent track car, I'll be making the move there as well.

After all the drama over the Cars with Luke video, just to confirm, are the dyne readings wheel or corrected crank hp?

.

I have no idea what Luke was doing in that video, way too much drama. This is all at the wheel readings and all the same setting as we do for every other car we run, so it's an honest assessment and you can compare across cars... Ambient Temps were in the 75-78F range. We can build some other comparisons if that's interesting. To put it in context, the 718 GT4 makes about the same wheel horsepower on our dyno as a 991.1 GT3, and the 997.2 GT3RS.

You're a little late with the thread Jaime:

https://rennlist.com/forums/718-foru...torsports.html

My bad on putting it in the wrong forum...way too long day at work.

P.S. - I'm still holding off on getting my AC fixed to do the D4.

Jamie, does the suspension setup eliminate all of the rubber (not counting engine and transmission mounts)? And how’s ride quality on the street (with MCS, I’d imagine it might actually be less jarring)?

Hi Jamie,

After watching videos of Dundon exhaust GT3/GT3RS ripping, I can't help to think this is the exhaust I want (I like it loud but prefer less drone). Curious to see why you have not prioritized the exhaust upgrades first over suspension?
I know alot of competitors are making them and I held off until you are have option for me....patiently waiting here!

I bet 90% of people won't go into changing suspension arm and/or fancy 3 way adjustable dampers mostly because they won't be able to find someone locally who can setup the cars properly and/or they are not driving at that competitive level on the track. For those that are pros or really good drivers who are chasing every second on the track, they properly have another race car/race team!

Subbed like a mug. This is gonna be legendary! Most reviewers agree this car has 1. Long gearing in the MT and 2. Sounds unacceptably like a vacuum cleaner. I dont know anyone that bought the car thats gonna leave the exhaust 100% stock, including people that dont mod. None of these guys are complaining about the gearing btw....
Youve got a really big potential market with alot of competitors offering exhaust solutions, and deliveries pouring in over the next year before they stop making these things. Are you planning on releasing some modular non-race components like a full catback valved exhaust? I think alot of people would eat this up. Especially since opf delete costs the better part of 2 grand from most other exhaust manufacturers. That said, a big part of the power comes from the dundon no-compromise performance design (and bomb diggety headers), which may not be in line with a more “conventional” exhaust system. Looking forward to some dynos and dragy pulls. You guys do it right!

A 718 GT4 rated at 414 HP makes about the same wheel horsepower as a 991.1 GT3 rated at 475 HP? My 718 GT4 feels strong, but this is surprising!
