Passenger rear in front of trunk.

Goes to front firewall

Disconnect that ****

This part stays and is connected to a bladder with vacuum input. Where my finger is its got a check valve looking thing.

Where symposer was connected. Top tube

This is the bladder that i think resonates. It comes off the air intake near the split

So by removing that tubing, did you have to plug anything, and did it fix the "droning"?

Removing the tube cut the intake resonance 40%. I want to go after the rest of it thats why i asked John to look into it
i had literally already put a sock in the firewall (from the cabin side)didnt plug anything else

I see,,,did you plug it at the firewall end protruding into the cabin? Wouldn't that cut down the droning even more?

So, plugging the firewall end and removing the tubing only cut down ~40%?

yep. But intake resonance is way more when you blow out the headers and put bmc

Ah, I see....resonance was worse with the tubing intact and with headers + BMC.

You've got it Jim, that is indeed the plan. And I appreciate the understanding, as I appreciate you still wanting it to happen haha

They are in stock (as are most of our tips at the moment) for anyone that would like a set

And yes, it seems to originate from behind the passengers seat right where the sound symposer opening is located. Eventually when I get back there to install some sound dampening material, it will get plugged or completely removed from within the engine compartment. Nice to hear someone thinking along the same lines as this and that plugging the hole might have reduces the drone a bit.

Next car we have in we'll do some back to back testing on this and see what we can find. I'd prefer to maximize the potential drone first and see how much of a tangible benefit it offers in a worst case scenario, so I expect we'll end up doing it with a full system replacement. My buddy Brent used a vacuum plug he had laying around, I'd expect that would have less frequency penetration than a sock haha. That said, I have tried that myself with two pairs of socks up tailpipes of my Cayman R once to quiet down cold start in my neighborhood at 4am one time....didn't work when they blew 5ft across the parking lot

Thank you John for the phone convo a few weeks ago AND thank you Momentum for the super quick turnaround!!
It was a pleasure chatting with you, and we wish you a quick install to go beat the snot out of it as soon as possible

Is this the howl that can be heard on decel or are we talking the drone under load between 1800-2800 RPM?

Default NUMERIC RACING GT4 SCREAMER!

We have a great relationship with Numeric Racing! Their shifters are top notch. The owner likes it loud - very loud - and so we outfitted his GT4 with our resonated Race Exhaust System and Competition Headers. This combination is not normally recommended for street use due to the volume and drone from the resulting straight pipe but Dan loves the ripping, raw sound it produces.

Mike is 100% correct I like it Loud and very Loud. All my cars have been but this one takes the cake. All I can tell you is it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I'm 50 but I feel more like I am 30. When I go under over passes or next to barrier walls I purposely drop it down a gear and let her scream. It's a GT4.It's not your mini van. As close to a race car you can get for the street. If I get drone I just simply drop it down a gear and goes away. I have no problem hearing my radio when I want to. I'd rather listen to this car scream. LOL. If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime.
