It's exactly how I would have spec'd mine, I am a sucker for black on black. And you're right about the tips, I especially like to match them to the wheels like you would your belt to your shoes. That said, they're on the car in that finish for an experiment haha. The signature satin finish is the same finish as our exhaust, and it heat cycles into a golden bronze. He is going to be beating the snot out of this car and we're quite excited to see how the double wall tips heat cycle due to the more complex design

Best regards,
John Gaydos

How soon until Sport Cats get released? I'm curious to hear how this would pair with Over-Axle Pipes...

The race exhaust is the ticket for the money. Question is, how much drone is there with no valves, and how much will the reaonators help with this (i would imagine alot).

ps what configurations other than stock are you planning to dyno test (valves open and closed). Wide open path would be the logical next comparison (race manifolds and exhaust). I would think race exhaust alone would be third best option so you can see what catback does by itself. Obviously opf alone should be similar to the resonated race exhaust (maybe that could serve as a twofor comparison... wishful thinking

I just got back home from work and a little box was waiting for me on my porch... my Soul valve control module!

Neat packaging, cool looking fobs (I imagined them bigger!) and quality materials.

Now I only need a car to install this on!!

John when should we expect the install instructions on the website? I want to plan the install in my head!!

Thanks for this post which reminded me I should also order. I’d be also interested in the instructions.

@Soul Performance Any news on the Jet Hot Ceramic coating for the over axle pipes? I am very much looking forward to this option as my dealer has agreed to install the pipes with the caveat that it will affect the warranty if the car breaks as a result of this part. This is why I’d want to add the ceramic coating to be sure nothing would go wrong. (And I know it has been said in practice it is not needed, but I want to have the peace of mind)

will the removal of the filters result in any loss of back pressure decreased torque?

Thanks

That will be coming later this year along with our valved exhaust system, so solid ETA just yet. Thanks for asking!

The resonators certainly help take the edge off the drone, but by no means is it eliminated. That said, in driving the race system in it's configurations I've found the drone level of the race exhaust to be less than equivalent systems on the previous generation 987/981 Boxster/Caymans. For someone that subjectively doesn't mind having drone, I don't think it was "that bad". For someone that doesn't like drone but likes the tone/pitch of our race system, they should consider pairing our competition over axle pipes with our upcoming valved exhaust system using a valves open flow path similar to our race exhaust.

Great chatting with you as well! Pleasure connecting with a diehard petrolhead like yourself, not often I see a GT3 covered in snow and dirt

Indeed! For those interested in pursuing it, you might as well go "Full Monty" and have us send the pipes off to the wonderful team over at Jet Hot to apply their Ultra Extreme 2500 coating on the entirety of the over axle pipes, which is overkill in any street or track application and comes with their superb lifetime warranty and customer service. We'll be quoting this as a $450 service shipped to their facility.

John Gaydos

Restriction/Backpressure is BAD, eliminating the particulate filters is GOOD and increases hp/tq. Rather than have me blabber on about that, someone already has in a very efficient manner haha. It's a good watch, check it out

UPDATE On Our Valve Controller Kit!

Most of you know by now that the PSE programming is incredibly invasive. Even with the button pushed the valves will close under acceleration under near 5k rpm. Even with our Competition Over Axle Pipes deleting the particulate filters, this PSE programming still neuters the fun under 5k when you don't want it to. This valve controller kit can be installed to override the PSE system in two different ways.
.
  • Method A: The first method is a partial PSE override for those that simply want the ability to have the valves open 100% of the time. This will allow you to keep the factory PSE controls unchanged until the valve controller kit is activated. Once activated at the push of a button, it will override the PSE controls completely and keep the valves open 100% of the time. Then at the push of a button and you can revert back to the factory PSE controls to close the valves and have the car operate the valves as normal.
  • Method B: This second method is a complete PSE override for those that not only want to open the valves 100% of the time, but close them 100% of the time as well to meet sound restrictions at various tracks. Factory PSE programming will not become active unless the valve controller kit is uninstalled from the car. Switching between 100% closed or 100% open will be controlled at the push of a button, no automated valve control is available with this method.
.
Both Methods: Valve actuation can be controlled by the included key fob by pressing buttons, or you can sync the signal of the key fob buttons to two of your three Homelink garage door buttons at which point you no longer need to use the key fobs.
.
  • Two key fobs are included to control the valves. They can also be paired with the HomeLink buttons for remote operation at the press of a button.
  • Allows you to force the valves open for a glorious sound at all times. From the factory the car can shut the valves based on operating parameters which can not only be unideal, but when running an aftermarket exhaust, can be much more pronounced and undesirable.
  • Allows you to close the valves at will, which is especially useful to try and meet track decibel restrictions when coming upon a metering station. Example 1. Example 2.
  • We do NOT recommend running the vehicle aggressively for prolonged periods of time with the valves closed.
  • Requires wiring for ground and switched 12V power source. Running vacuum to the valve controller solenoid is also required.
Here are links to the product page for purchase and our live PDF file for the installation guide. Any revisions over time will result in this link being the most up to date version you can review. Below are diagrams of OEM vs Method A vs Method B, as well as a video guideline of how to sync the key fob signals with your Homelink garage door buttons
