Mike. Thank you! For the pictures of my race exhaust being built. Can't wait to get it installed on my Spyder!

Now that is what I am talking about for sound. That is the mostly uncorked Porsche flat-six sound I believe we are all looking for. I sounds fantastic when he winds it out all the way on full throttle. Maybe a couple more resonators both before and after the x-pipe to calm it down a bit more so it might work for a larger audience.

That's basically their valved exhaust.

That, with the OPF delete is probably the max volume with daily driver potential and a notch above just the OPF delete with the stock muffler, which is probably where I'll land.

Exactly my thoughts, the car should sound amazing as a daily driver with this exhaust. I'm starting with OPF deletes and a valve controller. If not satisfied then this valved exhaust is the front runner for my next step.

Just picked up the GT4 from having the Soul OAPs installed. Loving it so far. So much better than stock. Now I can’t go under an overpass without revving the **** out of it. LOL!

That is great!

Do you have the valves forced open for that sound??

Thx!!!

Yes, used the grub screw method to plug the vacuum lines. I’ll eventually move to a valve controller at some point.

How’s the drone with this setup? I don’t really understand how Matt from OG was saying the drone was so much worse with the race exhaust then mentions that the factory rear valves open is basically straight piped. Wouldn’t that have a similar impact on drone? Or does the X pipe changing the pitch also change resonance frequencies or something?

Kind of deviated there, but main question - how’s the drone with this setup?

I’m not super sensitive to drone but I think the stock rear section with the valves force open and Soul OAPs has very little drone. Soul told Matt that the Race exhaust would drone so perhaps they can weigh in on why it doesn’t happen, or is less prominent, with the factory rear section.

The OEM rear section and the Soul Valved exhaust force a percentage of the exhaust flow, when the valves are open, to go through the muffler section. The valves open the seconday stright through path but doesn't close the muffled path....that coupled with the longer path for exhaust gases could lead to much lower drone/sound compared to the race exhaust which is basically a straight pipe with some cross over at the X section.

Collisions from the 2 paths and the stock box is much heavier and better dampened. Also has less gas velocity. Bunch of reasons i can think of

Agree with above. As mentioned earlier, having the race exhaust with 4 total resonators on it could help to reduce some of the annoying drone that Matt experienced. You all have used this approach on some of your exhausts years ago. Wonder if John can weigh in on this approach.

Now that jmartpr, is Exactly right! Very well said : ) Here is a great photo of how our Valved Exhaust System functions in regards to the flow paths in valves closed and valves open conditions. The PSE functions similarly in that the secondary flowpath is still technically active with valves open, utilizing the entire muffler assembly to reduce the drone.
