I wonder if a replacement for the GPF only becomes available not the full pipe. Interesting to hear one if made. Perhaps an even lower cost alternative. Although I must say the current options (especially the Soul to me) look and sound awesome.

Im not really going to concern myself with it until I get my car and have a chance to experience what it sounds like myself.

Will this create any sort of warranty issues down the road? Are people reconnecting them before dealership oil changes?

Given the design of the OEM OAP, there is not much point in making a new configuration just for the GPF canister itself, when you look at the pipe connection to the GPF it is welded.

Thus far all of the replacement GPF elimination OAPs simply insert pipe between the flange that bolts to the back of the cats and where it bolts to the muffler, with their proprietary designs of course.

No, the simplest idea here is what you are seeing, below is a side-by-side of the OEM along with the Soul unit you mention, clean and easy to install.

Suggest you discuss the mod with your service advisor to confirm any warranty issues.

It does drone a bit on my GT4, between 2.5k and 3.2k rpm approximately. That is when you drive “cruise mode”, not “racing mode”.

Hey Guys,
Phil here from Fabspeed. We have designed our over axle pipes to 2.5" inlet pipes for maximum flow.

Over Axle pipes remove and delete the Gasoline Particulate Filters, GPF, found on all GT4, GTS, Spyder, and 4.0 liter GT4 cars worldwide.

To meet stringent Euro 6 emission standard and European models of the 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4 refitted with two particulate filters one for each of the cylinders
Euro 6 allows for only one tenth of the previdusty allowed particulate emissions On European models the exhaust gases are forced through the filter wall trapping soot that is burned off later US models Use a straight through filter design without the expensive, soot trapping precious metal coating. This makes them inert and nothing more than Sound attenuators. Porsche keeps these on US-bourid 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4 so It doesn't have to change the specification of the muffler"

As of now here is our explanation of how we created our OAP.
Fabspeed OAP explanation

Here are some sound clips of the over axle pipes:

Stay tuned for the full exhaust system.

Thanks Phil, but are you able to post a video where the PSE is always open with OPF only mod applied? The video doesn't do a good job showing us what OPF delete sounds like on its own because the PSE valves are closed up to 4k RPMs and by the time it opens up the car is too far to hear it properly. The rest of the video then shows it with the rear exhaust can mod, so it doesn't really give us a full understanding of how Fabspeed's OPF deletes sound on their own.

Perhaps I missed this, but isn't there a reason why Porsche has the valves closed at various times? Could keeping them always open somehow actually be detrimental?

God bless,
TT

Euro noise regs.

Then they give the same programming to rest of world so that there’s no obviously more desirable version of the car sold one place over the other. There are different theories, but that’s mine on why NA gets the same programming. That’s also my theory on why NA gets stuck with a dummy OPF.

Yup. New European regulations require the exhaust volume in the loudest mode to be below a fairly low threshold when accelerating at wide open throttle from 50 km/h for a brief test duration. Thus, Porsche programs the valves to be closed below 55-60 km/h.

My cargraphic opf delete came in before the muffler ,I couldn’t help but to install the opf delete first. Noticeable rumble right away ,and quite a bit louder even with the oem muffler. With valves closed ,it’s oem quiet ,with valves open you get a nice aggressive flat6 howl. With the delete the cabin sound is glorious.

Nice, thanks for reporting back. Are you impressed enough with just the OPF delete pipes? Can you post a video?
