break in, not supposed to shift past 4k for first 2k miles, I usually shift between 4-5k

Totally get that, but it doesn’t tell anything about the tone of the exhaust. I wouldn’t draw any conclusions based on what sounds like 4K shifts.

Loud != good. That having been said, I hope you get a fair price and make someone else's year!

I know, I had Spyder and it was too loud and phony at low speed. I think it’s awesome that the new car is quiet down low and comes alive as the motor really spins up.

But you weren’t even accelerating hard up to 4-5k, you were soft footing it. Even my Spyder would be pretty quiet like that. No offense, but that video looked like you were doing everything possible to keep the sound down.

That is bit odd! I rarely heard an Akra pipe sound bad; probably, never! I've had Akra on different bikes; and, heard a ton. It has a signature deep sound. I do agree that 982's bass and intake sounds should be preserved while modding.

Thanks. Look forward to a solution that works for me. Namely, a good sound that works with stock catalytic converter and header.

Honestly, still sounds good, but you can tell that if he kept going, it is going to scream like a proper GT car.
I don’t usually follow the break in to 2k miles. I usually do the first 200-300 miles to 4-5k and then gradually raise the revs every 100-150 miles. I always wait until the car is warmed before getting on it, which, IMO is really the most pertinent thing.
I bought my 718 GTS with 197 miles and once warmed on the drive home ran it to redline and did so many times on the way home. When I had my 991.2T, I bought with 1200 miles and went and redlined as soon as the oil temp hit 180 degrees.

Well that's certainly not going to help you sell the car.

You're right, short shifting invokes no excitement at all. Jvmax should delete these videos and go for high rev vid's instead.

For those that want to set the exhaust to open with a remote.
Currently there are about 4-5 models out there from various vendors.
Capristo being the most expensive and Valvetronic the cheapest. The Capristo has many modes you can set and the other is just open or automatic.
I may get one rather than staying with the vacc lines pluged.

I received my valve control unit from Cargraphic in the meantime. It is not mounted yet. Looks well built.

I would love to rip it to 8k rpm, but then those will complain I over revved in the break in period
