Congratulations! I ordered mine at the beginning of last month. I had to turn over my 2014 981 CS upon ordering. I've been without a Porsche since then... and will be until the new one arrives Dec 4th. Its painful.

Did you each get cash for your trade or a credit against the car you ordered?

God bless,
TT

Credit against the car. It some jurisdictions, including mine, a trade reduces the sales tax applied to the new car. This offsets to some degree the lower price paid by the dealer for your car as compared to what you might get in a private sale. In my case, I think I only lost a couple of $K, which to me was well worth it. Between tire kickers and Covid, selling a car didn't seem like much fun.

Must be same boat as you fellas above. 9/11 lock, V300 vehicle completion 10/2, arrives at dealer 12/4. Were you guys able to negotiate down from MSRP? I'm oscillating between Gentian Blue with black/chalk and White with black/Bordeaux.

Man, I’m wondering whether I should just bag the idea of ED and take the December delivery... although it’s not like I’d be driving in the winter much.

I got about 3%, which is pretty good considering that this was the dealers only allocation and they had no assurance that any more were coming.

I have a winter wheel set but it will be in my garage when the car arrives across town in December. I will have to decide whether I can risk the drive on summer tires or go through the rather big PITA to get them installed on the new car. First world problems.
European delivery sounds wonderful except for COVID, which will likely be with us for a while yet.

I got credit against the new car so I could get the sales tax exemption on my sale.

I was able to negotiate a discount off of MSRP. I purchased from this dealer before and was able to get $1800 off of the $107K MSRP. That's about 1.7%... not much, but happy to take it.

Thanks for the information. Same here in Indiana, USA regarding the sales tax. The shame of that is one makes a pretty large loan to one's dealer for a not insignificant period of time until the new car arrives.

God bless,

This makes me psyched. I keep looking at various color combo and keep coming back to Night Blue and Black/Bordeaux interior. Can’t wait to finalize!

It will be beautiful. Makes me wish our 991.2 911 Carrera was Night Blue instead of black.

God bless,

I was in a similar situation, they took my 15 981S in Feb and were going to put me in an older boxster for the interim and hold the balance so as to apply the tax savings to the GTS. Covid hit and no Boxster. Fast forward to May and they put me in a '06 997S Cab with a guaranteed buyback of the same amount in October. My 'rent' was I upgraded the stereo and put in a backup camera. I wasnt comfortable them holding onto nearly $60k Canadian with no Commission #. I just got that today with a freeze of October 8th. I assume that means it goes into production near the end of October right? How long from production to delivery is that? 6-8 weeks?

Am I a complete moron for wanting to trade in my 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage manual for one of these?

my vantage sounds absolutely incredible, is plenty fast for the street and my canyon cruises with friends, plus I'd save like 80k in the process by not buying one lol

but damn I just can't get over the idea of it, here's my build by the way http://www.porsche-code.com/PMYUIN93

Keep both. Those Astons sound wild.
