The car feels awesome so far and I am still running the engine in. Ride quality over bumpy surfaces is really good with the standard 20mm drop as well.

Congrats! Looks sharp! More pics of the Python Green please, in as many light conditions as possible including direct sun.

I have my car on order - an October build with late December delivery to California. I think we might see more activity here once cars start being delivered in the United States, but it is very quiet here in the meantime with no real GTS 4.0 news or reviews coming out for a while.

Anyone else here in the waiting room?

Yep... I'm waiting, too. Got a few more weeks to make changes before the build is locked in stone. It's torture waiting.

Pinkoboe and Jefflj: Thanks very much for your notes. Waiting is hell. Can’t wait to hear more from you all when you get your vehicles!

I’ve got a December delivery date as well. Would love to hear some owner driving opinions. I’m struggling with the pdk vs manual decision - seems like every day I want the other one than what I wanted the day before.

I have a December delivery date also with a September freeze date. I want to freeze the build in the next 10 days or so definitely do not want to wait till the last minute. Can't decide between Aventurine Green with Agate Gray leather or Gentian Blue with Graphite Blue leather, but it is fun deciding....

Same thing here. Late September build, late November delivery to PEC LA. Thankfully I just locked so I don't have to second guess my decisions any more... 718 vs. 911, GTS vs. GT4 or Spyder, Cayman vs. Boxster, PDK vs. Manual, GT Silver vs. Gentian Blue, Black/Bordeaux vs. Black/Chalk, S-PASM vs. PASM. So many decisions to agonize over. I can totally relate to overweighing all possibilities.

Nice specs!

Have you seen the colors in real life?

I'm feelin ya. Some lean towards PDK when using the car as a daily driver, manual if it's only a weekend warrior. Another thing to keep in mind is the 2nd gear on these 4.0's is so tall it doesn't really require a lot of shifting unless you're in stop and go traffic or short shifting.

Yeah i’m hearing the same thing which is why I am second guessing the manual. Thats why I wanted more people to weigh in on if the tall gearing is really a factor in enjoying the full potential of the drivetrain. It’s the same gearing as all the other boxsters and caymans though including the 981s and I don’t remember this much criticism for them back when they were released. On the contrary actually, I remeber reviewers seemed to prefer the 6 speeds on the 981s to the 7 speeds in the 991s back in the day. I currently have a pdk 2.5 gts so I want something a little different but also don’t want to regret changing up a winning combination.

Yes. in fact I was at the dealer the other day and they loaned me the color samples to juxtapose them in bright sun and shade, nothing scientific just a few shots. It seems both colors have about the same depth of shine. I think both colors are very unusual and quite striking.

imho, the gear ratios shouldn’t be part of the PDK vs manual decision. get what you want. i’ve got a 981 GTS manual and the tall 2nd gear, while tall, isn’t an issue. i daily drive/weekend drive the car and never worry about it. with more power in the 4.0...i’m thinking even less of an issue. i get it...i’ve driven a manual ‘98 986 for 150k and it’s fun to need the correct gearing. the GTS is fun in a totally different way.
