6 months or 6k km's. whichever comes first. if you go past it kiss your 19% VAT deposit goodbye.

I also believe that Porsche will give you insurance for 60 days (extra cost??)
There is a page on the Porsche website saying which other ports/cities you can drop the car off (again for an extra fee)....I will looks at my ED documents to see if I still have it

actually you should PM Trakcar...he has done ED twice and done all the major tracks in Europe and stays for weeks/months after the ED date.

There is also the Euro Delivery forum here..https://rennlist.com/forums/european...ce-center-236/

I have a technical question... I know insurance is included (for 16 days) but do we get title to the car when taking delivery in Germany or when we ultimately receive the car from the dealership? In other words, when do I need to get my own insurance?

stupid question maybe…. but I'm considering ED if I get an allocation. Are the cars that are EDed the same as non-EDed cars? Just want to make sure they dont slap the GPF in a US/Canada bound car because it's going to roll in Europe.

Don’t need your own insurance until car is delivered to you by your home dealer.

Has anyone been able to swap tyres upon delivery? How did you do that, given the “original” tyres need to be on the car when returned? Is there a tyre shop near Leipzig who would sell/rent you some tyres and hold your Cup 2’s until you return 2 weeks later?

I’m hoping to lock in ED for a Spyder (my first Porsche!) and would prefer to have something more road oriented than the Cup 2’s for my drive to the Balkans and back (via Austria).

they do it for you at the factory...that is why, as I said above, if you opt for winter wheel/tire setup you MUST return it to the factory (Zuffenhausen in my case) for them to swap back to "stock" Cup 2's and rims before shipping to USA

Yes, they will fit your car with Winter tires in the snowy months for free, but they will not give you all-season or summer tires (like 4S), just because it is your preference.

Famous mountain passes won't be open when I'm going for my ED (early May...) :-/
So, my plan is the following:

Day 1: Fly In to Liepzig, relax and fight jet lag
Day 2: Delivery, track and factory tour
Day 3: Drive to Nurburgring
Day 4: Ring Taxi @9AM and drive my car after a few laps (I'm lucky, it is a Tourist day that day). Sleep close to Baden-Baden .
Day 5: Strasbourg and Freiburg, Basel for sleeping
Day 6: Drive to Innsbruck (hikes and visit on my way)
Day 7: Drive to Stuttgart
Day 8: Fly home

Any comments and recommandations are more than welcomed!

Scuderia Hanseat May 3-6 sectional training at the Nürburgring. Well worth it. Best time you will ever have in a Porsche if you love driving.

Why do you think I'm doing it now?

On a more serious note...any chance some of passes in Austria / Italy / Switzerland will be open 3rd week of may?

got my spot switched to a june build currently. looking to do a september delivery. hoping some news on the python green availability. i have a friend that couldn't move his delivery back so he is on for June 8th. I'm planning to go out there as well so if anyone is looking for some tracks, passes to drive we plan to head down to italy and back up to germany for 10 days. would be awesome if more rennlisters can meet up in EU somewhere. June 8-20 timeframe. then in september likely Sep 22 - Oct 5.
