On a related note, in the Chris Harris & AP video, AP mentioned the GT3 has done a much faster lap than the previous gen car. I think the 992 GT3 is going to be around the 991.2 3RS Ring time, if not faster. Also think the 992 3RS will be faster than the AMG Black as well (considering the .2 3RS was only 8 seconds off the pace for the 12.9 circuit). Then the 992 GT2/RS will run low 6:3x.

GT4 RS I would guess a best of 7:18 and worst of ~7:21. I think the PDK, Aero, and HP will get up to about 10 seconds. It is worth noting, the Ring lap delta between the 991.1 GT3RS and the 991.2 GT3RS was 24 seconds despite what looked like very minimal changes on paper. Porsche has a way of making what appears to be immaterial changes count for a lot in a lap. Ultimately, we shall see, but I never thought we would be talking even 7:2x for a 414 hp car like the GT4 (especially with a manual transmission) let alone even faster for a 4RS but we are and that right there should tell you what we thought may have been impossible, Porsche has clearly and unequivocally accomplished with relative ease.

I say this as a previous owner of a 991.1 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS Weissach with a GT4 PDK on order. I don’t understand the presumed RS. Is there a sliver of gap between the GT4 and GT3? Sure, but given the production limitations, why not just make more of the expensive ones. I also feel like you start pricing into the 992 GTS land. The appeal of the GT4 for me was that it was (with options) 100k less than my GT3RS which was mostly just sitting in my garage. If you shrink the gap between a hypothetical GT4 RS and 992 GT3 to anything less than about 30k (with options), I would rather just get a lighter spec GT3 all day long. (Especially to the track, which is presumably what the RS is for)

my guess remains 465 hp / 330 ft lbs and I stand by it.
I think they are really going to bump up the coming 992 GT3 RS and that PAG is no longer holding back the Cayman, especially with the 4 RS. The current 982 car can do a 7:22 on a Nring with the manual I bet that the PDK will do 7:15. I think the 4RS car will surprise on output and be breaking records. Even if it isn't 500 hp some fancy titanium bolt ons, ecu tune and its over 500.
Thats my bet, sorry but i'm not sorry and have a different opinion lol

There are plenty of much more powerful cars with dual clutches that are quite a bit slower than the GT4.

you can hope for that, but it makes no sense. Besides, the club sport doesn’t really have more power. It’s fast due to removing all the weight (things that make it street legal), slicks, and a not-appropriate-for-street suspension. They’d have to make the suspension more harsh than the GT3 RS (and closer to the race car) which isn’t going to happen. I think many of you are living in a fantasyland about this GT4 RS. Why you are expecting a much bigger gap between the 4 and 4RS than the 3 and 3RS is beyond logic.

True that Christian ran 7:32 for one hot lap, but I have no doubt a factory driver did 7:28 as Porsche has said. They have no reason to lie and I think given Christian is usually off factory pace that speaks well for the validity of 7:28 from someone who knows the car much better than he does.

Comparisons of times must be verified real world times or they’re just nonsense. If the RS has only 36 hp more, it’s not going to be that much faster than the GT4, and more than half of any difference is going to be due to tire compounds, which isn’t the car.

Aside from improvements to the .2 RS and the track, the addition of R tires and running in better weather conditions (991.1 RS ran in damp) were big factors.

Yep, It would require changes to the front chassis subframe to account for the pickup points for the upper A arm. Not impossible but would require changes in the body in white for the GT4RS. Keep in mind that the plain vanilla 992 still has a strut based front suspension.
Either way highly unlikely, unless PAG decides to go multi-link or double wishbone rear and double wishbone front on the GT4RS. That would be the more sane approach instead of a hack of only adding a double wishbone front and keeping a strut based rear suspension.
