No GT4RS is built after september 2024, so no MY25 GT4RS. Cybersecurity legislation dictates scrappng 718 and ICE Macan for 2025. Deliveries might run into 2025, but that’s late MY24 production being delivered.

This also impacts some Asian countries with same/similar regs.
PAG says 718s will continue in other markets for some time post 718 EV launch.
How long and what trims? Guess away

The entire EV business model is being questioned by Porsche and every other ICE manufacturer hoping to convert to EV. Whatever timeline existed previously assumed the adoption of the buying public. That ain't happening and dealers are saying whoa. So for this reason, I believe Porsche and every other builder will continue to build the ICE vehicles that EVs were designed to replace. Being that the GT4RS was one of the "swan song" ICE vehicles, it will continue to be built by default. This is all just my opinion.

very well could be. The EV market was not what the tree huggers told us it would be so the ICE’s may get a reprieve. However, My SA said no ‘25 for the 4RS today but we all know how trustworthy SA words are. He didn’t know the 992.2 was getting an NA engine either. Go figure.

No new 718s, regardless of trim, can be delivered in the EU starting 1 July 2024 because of cybersecurity regs.
This also impacts some Asian countries with same/similar regs.

One has to wonder at what point if that market disappears, as well as some Asian countries, whether Porsche will want to continue the 4RS or retool for other compliant models such as ( but not exclusively) the 718 EV

Whatever anyone's reason for buying an EV is, my Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo is the best car in the garage for everyday driving... better than the Cayenne, better than the GT3, better than the 4RS. This is just my opinion, but I'd be disappointed to have to drive anything else.

So just to confirm on the cybersecurity law going into effect in the EU: is it because the 718 platform does not have the necessary capabilities as an older platform than the 992 911?

In this case you misunderstand cybersecurity. Its actually adding required Big Brother stuff and the necessary support equipment.

They’ve know about it for years.
If it was “easy” PAG would have done it

GT4rs sucks. Buy a GT3 instead. Problem solved.
