LA... Still thinking. I DD my GT4 and have done a lot of work on it. So not sure I want/need GT4RS... I think they go lower as they are planning to build more of these than the GT4! And heading into worsening economy.

I think if everyone is patient there will be a lot of the GT4RS coming available in the next 12 months...

If they're expecting a worsening economy, wouldn't they cut production back?

No. The factory doesnt share in the ADM (AFAIK)... so what do they care. They will still make and sell these cars just the dealers wont have as big a margin. Will they not make the SRS because economy is down, I think not... Porsche builds cars thats what they do. Its the pricing that will collapse. Already the ADMs are trending way down from the crazy $150k to $100 to $75 and now around $40k for people off the street...

My 4rs arrives soon and based on perception they are cranking these out. They won’t ever meet full demand but from what I’ve seen dealers are delivering cars.

I don't doubt they are, but I do doubt Dnimi's claim that they will produce more 4RS's than GT4's, hence my question to him.

You can always take you suspension and use it on the 4RS, just put it back stock and sell it/trade it.....stop kidding yourself, a GT4 with the 9A2 Evo engine wont reach the 4RS level, then you have the PDK which in the 4RS is far superior.
You would have to send your car to DeMan or BGB to get something aftermarket to match performance.
We are not even factoring the future value and that stuff...which if you care about it's something to consider.

The 982 GT4 has been produced since 2020 (model year)....that's 3 full years and it's well known that 982 production will cease 2024 summer to arrange production for the new mid-engine platform....GT4RS? 2.5 years and already 1 year the US market didn't have access to it (2022)...and for some markets (like mine) they expect far less allocation of 2024 model year cars.
Porsche also can't crank "up" production as they have a finite capacity.....how many new models where launched during the GT4 years? With the GT4RS you have a lot of models coming out and that eats up production capacity.
They will make quite a few of these but never more than GT4.....

I second this question.

Everyone on here seems so confident that Porsche is making these in droves and that everyone will get them at MSRP at some point.

Porsche really has the supplies and factory time to “crank” out GT4RSs for the next 1.5 years?

Yes, you can take the suspension and move it over, BUT the biggest question one has to ask if they plan to daily drive a 4RS is can they take that intake volume. That is a big ask for anyone who wants to use the car often and wring it out but also cares about their hearing.

At MSRP, I would consider a trade to a 4RS if it weren't for that intake volume, I just couldn't handle that on a regular basis and don't want to have to wear ear protection either.

Have you driven one? If the answer is no, then how do you know it's too loud for you?

I've seen multiple youtube videos that say it's perfectly fine, and others that say it's unbearable loud. I certainly wouldn't let someone else's opinion decide for me.

FWIW, it sounds like it's the upper 1000rpm where things get spicy. If you're daily driving this thing, are you really living in that upper RPM frequently enough to care? I would have thought it's those living on the track that would have to consider hearing protection.

I don't need to one, there are plenty of interior DB readings that have been done online and they are above what one would want to be subjected to often.

While I don't wring my GT4 out every drive, I do often enough to where it would be an issue for my purposes. Why have it if you are not going to use it. You have to pick your spots and times on the streets, but I don't baby my car in the least and the same would be true of the 4RS

if trading a gt4 the adm on a 4RS doesn’t matter. As your gt4 value will be going down in a similar matter to 4RS value. It’s just like housing. You buy and sell in the same market.

so far as daily, I drove mine to golf and back today. No issue whatsoever.

If I get one in the future, I will most likely put some sound deadening material over the intake manifold. Some factory alcantera diamond stitched to some DEI sound insulating batting placed over some custom cut and trimmed closed cell acoustic foam. The alcantera can be stretched and tucked in under each of the plastic panels just fore and aft of the intake manifold. Then wrap the sides of the alcantera around and under the edges of the foam. Then maybe make an insulated tube wrap with a Velcro closure to go over each of the plastic intake tubes. It would be a lot of work, but could be made to look close to OEM and would certainly take the edge out the loudness of the intake sound.
