I usually don't make predictions, but I'll venture out on a limb here, and say there won't be a manual GT4 RS.
Porsche stubbornly goes by formula, so if the 99x RS is PDK, then a 78x RS would also be.
Yes, in the past RSs were manual before the invention of the PDK, but I don't see them going back.
There could be a GT4 R with a manual however, but again according to formula, it would come after an RS.
That said, I would go with a DCT Z06 instead.

Why on earth could you possibly prefer centerlocks?

5 lugs on a GT car would be a big plus for me personally. But folks are prob split on this. I don't think I can drive the car hard enough for the wheels to pop off.

For me center locks = cool factor and 5 lugs = more practical-user friendly. Would I opt for center locks? probably!!

CLs are a big negative for use on the track. Here's hoping the car has five lug nuts.

I know PDK-S has paddle-hold neutral while PDK has paddle-click neutral. What else is different?

Lots of lovely mechanical noises especially when cold...you hear the clutches.
Then different ratios, different cooling, stronger gears and obviously faster shifts.

PDK-S modifications include,
- shorter transmission ratios
- bigger variance between the shift programs
- faster shift times
- shift paddles with a shorter shift throw and response time

Only GT cars get PDK-S. So far the 991.1 and .2 GT3/GT3RS and the 991 GT2RS. Regular Porsches (non-GT cars) do not get PDK-S.

Chris provided a nice summary of the essential differences. I agree with his list. I will also add a more comprehensive list https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...-s-vs-pdk.html
Post #4 provides a comprehensive list of PDK-S differences.
I would also add that the shorter gearing is a very important component, and is the biggest reason PDK-S is not just a software change (per the incorrect shop foreman). Gears are a torque multiplier and the lower gears in PDK-S, enhance how much torque you feel when driving. One of the reasons that the PDK-S 991.1 GT3 feels much more powerful than a PDK 991.1 GTS which has the same torque.

Thanks.
Good thread.
Funny comments.

Edit: I don’t think I’d want PDK-S on a mostly-street car.

I've daily driven my PDK 991.2 GT3 for ~10k miles, having done ~30k miles in a PDK 991.2 Carrera prior. The differences are noticeable but its no "worse" than driving a DCT BMW daily IMO. Just different.
