Well it depends on the use - if you're involved in timed competitive motorsport and run a crew (even if shared) you'd run real centre locks. Many events, even multi dayers can come down to a few seconds. Its not uncommon. There are only a small number of people on rennlist that would have that requirement. There are lot of club drivers on here but not many event drivers - its a big difference.
The faux ones are a nuisance and simply for "looks"

I couldn't care that much to be honest - the reason I bought my RS was not because of centre locks but because I needed a road registered base car - and the best out of the box Porsche makes is the GT3RS. You can still get the wheels changed sharpish with a crew and I use/share crews. Yes for the club guys it sucks - but sheet that home to the purists.
Anyhow, Porsche will simply put the RS badge on a GT4 with some relatively modest changes but nothing likely material - then they will charge a big chunk and the purists will whinge about the lack of manual - simple answer go and buy a Series !! 997 if you want that.

The Porsche center locks are wear items to be replaced after a number of racing hours, that's another mark against them.
If specifying five lugs isn't an option like it was on the 991 GTS, replace them with five lugs, then when selling the car it can be advertised that it comes with zero mileage center locks in a box.

A zoomed in photo of these intakes shows a screen behind the louvers, so hopefully that is a sign they are functional

Not at all practical for street cars, it would be a very interesting to see it go into production. Lots of practical hurdles there.

Actual pictures of the setup have been posted. IIRC you'll loose the usability of the rear trunk section, the tubing appears to be thin and fragile. There might also be issues with component relocation that are presently hidden behind the carpet as well. All of which are not as important in the GT4CS when compared to a legal street version.
