Why all the hate for center locks? I think they look amazing. Much better than 5 circular lug nuts that break up the look of the rim. Center locks just remind me of the Carrera GT. Yes they probably are a huge pain to take off because you need a huge bar to give you leverage, but I think they clean up the looks of rims a lot

Play with the required aluminum paste for a day and report back

the PDK is much better geared than the manual.

Why is so much energy wasted on the debate between PDK and manual…buy what you want and be glad we still have options.

They look great, but they turn a very simple 1 man job into a 2 man job.

Does it? Often but not always from what we've seen. Manual is also faster from 100-200kph.

I think either way if someone is buying a GT4 PDK over a manual for raw lap times and no other reason then they're doing it very wrong. It's a track enjoyment toy not a lap time record making monster. A SS 1LE gives similar lap times and better cornering G's for <50g.

If you want lap times invest in driver skill, put slicks on, or buy a better bang for buck car for lap times.

FWIW: That is not correct, there are penalties in regards to the number of air guns that are allowed on pit lane depending on the configuration been used CL vs lug nuts. It is intended to equalize the time that it takes to change a wheel/tire.

The 570 GT4 racecar has been using CL wheels since it's introduction.

Ok, so this is a totally ridiculous question (sort of). Will they put the axle lift system into the car? The GT4 is a pain to drive around here without it and the RS would probably be impossible.

I also think they're great, what an RS needs IMV

They do look great until you go to the track and swap wheels (or do it at home before)....plus the maintenance and the higher possibility of failure resulting in a crash.....but if you don't swap wheels or go to the track guess they are cool.

Because they are a PITA. If you want looks a slight wheel design change could give you an oversized center cap that'll cover the lugs. Done.

I agree the GT4 is not going to break any track records but.....the PDK lets you concentrate on proper race line and braking taking gears out of the equation. From beginners to advanced drivers it's an advantage.
In my personal case, my PDK is probably 1-1.5 seconds faster around our local track (1.3 miles) which does have more slow corners than faster ones.
I also agree on your last sentence...best bang for your buck......
Of course this is all based on how you use your GT4 and mine is biased towards track.

On the 4RS and PDK......being an RS means 99% it will be PDK only...the other 1% is covered by the lack of a proper transmission for the new engine and if they indeed re-geared the PDK for the RS. If they last thing is true they will put that new PDK in every single one of those RSs to recover cost.

Define similar?

The PDK is 10% shorter gear-gear 1-6 so always pulling harder.

Better LSD lock values and NLS also.
