BTW, these are the GT4 MR upgrades (suspension probably biggest difference):
- MR coilover suspension
- MR forged wheel set
- MR brake pad set
- MR steel flex line set (front axle and rear axle)
- Protective grille set for air intake
- MR air deflector
- MR gurney
- MR wing brackets

So.....the car for the "ring time was a regular GT4RS or a GT4RS WP? It had both logos...wouldn't they use only the WP logos on the headrest and dash trim? This just show that they haven't finished the cars/specs.
You are taking this too seriously, relax and order the WP if it becomes available. We are all, including you, speculating and nothing we have seen so far is hard evidence.....maybe we should ask Whoopsy or Chris?

Great points and like the mod ides to supplement an expensive Weissach Package.
Manthey-Racing released about 2 weeks ago a video of their 718 MR on the Ring. Looks like it did the full run in 7.27, so 5 seconds better then the factory 6-speed number, and 2 seconds slower then what we heard about the 718 GT4 PDK. Significantly slower than the GT4 RS number of 7:09.3

It is worth pointing out that this car had Cup 2 tires, not Cup 2 Rs.
Not saying it will be near as quick as the 4 RS at all, but Bridge to Gantry in 7:05 or so? That's pretty awesome, all costs included.

Good points @KelvinC . I was thinking in comparison against the GT4 6-speed & PDK, there doesn’t seem to be a big time difference in times with the GT4MR at the Ring, at least on that video and on that day with that driver in those conditions. Reads like all 3 GT4 variants were on the Cup2 N1’s.
GT4RS in Cup2 R’s, on another plane of existence it seems. Still no idea, lots of debate, on what the power plant is and gearbox ratios are.

Certainly, is there a possibility that it’s the limited production number on glove box.

Would anyone care to speculate if the GT4RS is officially launched at the Los Angeles Auto show, when would Porsche start sending out allocations to dealers / and make the order spec live on line?

I believe the standard car came with the mag roof and the WP car got the carbon roof. The 991.1 RS had the mag roof which was lighter than carbon fiber at the time and was shipped around the world to be made. Marketing in overtime.

That said... this doesn't seem an unsolvable problem to me.
Edit: Looks like I'm completely off track here. No issue at all.

Lightweight glass in the GT4's rear hatch (large piece) will save a bunch of weight...
Would also be awesome if the WP gave the GT4RS a CF frunk like the GT3 (and a rear hatch made from CF would be great too).

The GT3s are 911 based. Those were designed with a sunroof Targa top in mind. That in turn required different roof structure. Replacing a std panel with a CF there is easy so to speak. The picture you posted is somewhat misleading. Looking at an actual car there is no seam.

the Ring car had WP (mag wheels and titanium cage).
WP is going to be, mag wheels, light roof, titanium cage.
New options for both, alcantara dash and matt carbon trim

That sounds right (for Europe - here no cage of any material) and maybe lightweight frunk and glass (maybe even for non-WP RS). And WP probably gets CF swaybars...
