Imagine it does have the GT3 engine and the Spyder RS gets same but with manual transmission then i would have get Spyder RS!!!!

Hopefully it's just same engine except for raised rev limit, different intake and a titanium exhaust all easily retrofitted save for manufacturer warranty if 414 hp at 8k rpm then easily 455 at 9k rpm...

That’s my hope (gt3+mt) and would be my goal. Would it approach speedster money?

I don't think the GT4 motor has a fixed valve train does it? I don't see Porsche going back to hydraulic lifters on an 8800+rpm motor after all the cams they ate. It would take more than lighter pistons and other easier engine mods for them to go over 8500rpm.

I think they're going to be hard-pressed to offer a manual with that engine - makes no sense to neuter it down to 310 ft-lbs (gearbox's limit) and production numbers probably don't justify a new gearbox (as well as the new gearing that is needed for 9k rpm)...

I thought similarly. Sounds like a vibration or some weird resonance for those last 500 rpm. Doesn't sound like any GT3 / RS I have driven. We'll know for sure in a few more weeks.

I wonder if that’s the clue that indicates it isn’t the gt3 motor. Plus, I just don’t see them devaluing the gt3 like that, in the gt3 owner’s eyes.

Holy ****, listening to that guy drone on and on is like getting a really long, slow root canal. He takes 10 minutes to give you 30 seconds worth of information.

Sorry for the repost.....mods are welcome to delete.

If you have time to kill......keep in mid that Misha has run 100's of laps in high performance Porsche on the 'ring. Get's a bit more interesting around 7:55. His proposition is the GT4 RS may be a bit faster than stated.

The 9A2 evo engine cannot rev to 9000. It would have to be 8500 or the 9A1 GT3 engine period.
Theres an excellent tech article in 000 magazine on the 9A2 evo and while it is a brilliant engine
it does not have the capability to rev that high without wholesale parts changes.

I found his commentary interesting - the video comparison ot the 4 cars, his observations regarding the fender vents, the potential brake issues, the constant lift off mid-corner to help rotation, etc….were all insights that very few people would have picked up IMHO. As for his credentials, he lives at the ring, he instructs at the ring, he races in VLN at the ring, and does over 1,000 laps a year. He knows the track so well that he even published a video where he instructed blindfolded. Very few people know the ring as well. Plus he is genuinely an all around nice guy having met him at the ring at Apex
