I'd be curious as to why Porsche thinks that is, people moving to SUVs is a trend but these seem like big swings for that to be the only reason.
I lifted it from the Panorama magazine available as part of the PCA membership.

Wasn't 2019 the first year for the new Cayenne? If so, that's likely the driving force; folks trading up. I also think there is a trend towards practicality in the car market these days. As SUVs have gotten more and more capable as drivers over the last decade, not as many people want to compromise with a smaller, less practical vehicle.

Yeah, I grabbed one, my first. I quite like it, some things I'd spec differently next time. Would agree on the trading up, big tech jump from previous gen, early lease traders etc. I went SUV from a 16 TDI A6 as I needed more room for two toddler seats.

I was also eluding to maybe their regular sports cars 718 and 911 aren't as appealing as other options in the class.

Or maybe people are getting their sports car buzz from sporty SUVs, most manufacturers have them. Thinking about MB and their AMG Suv line up (though not all true AMG).

Different strokes for different folks, my wife has a Macan S, I get to drive it a lot and it is a rewarding experience, I could see how (based in the utility quotient) that this would be a 'practicable sports car' for many!

But of course I can say this because my car will be the Spyder!

My Spyder is a 4/2020 build and says it will be at my dealer in AZ on 6/19/2020.

Porsche 2019 USA sales.

If you scroll down a bit, you'll find that Porsche car sales are down in 2019, but SUV sales are up enough to cover the deficit.
I remember a long time ago when a Detroit auto sage said, "Cayenne is the answer to the question that no one is asking".
I wonder how he feeds his family today?

From my SA: build locks Feb. 12th, with entry into body shop on March 6th. Doesn't exit production until April 3rd which is weird, expected it to be a one week timeline from entry to exit vs. ~1 month. Arrives in Halifax May 8th and at my dealer on May 22nd. Feel like if the GT4 enters production in March, that timeline might be moved up...or conversely it doesn't enter production until end of March to coincide with the rest of the timeline.

Got a call last week from my dealer for a April 2020 allocation in Montreal, Canada.

Asked to postpone to April 2021 since I want a PDK.

Got a call from my dealer here in Toronto, deliver in May this year, but postponed to May next year mainly because my wife is also delivering in May! 😬

This is my 2nd Porsche and my first GT4. I have a V200 with delivery in late July. I'm looking forward to getting back into a Porsche, especially a GT4. DFW, Texas.

No ADM which no one should pay! I was "first" on the list for my dealer, but I didn't get the first allocation because others who bought multiple cars from the dealer "bumped" me. Oh well, still I was 5th through my SA, not sure as far as the dealership as a whole though.

I plan on daily driving the car first and tracking second.

Congratulations on the new born, always an exciting time for everyone. Gee, I was hoping to hear from my Toronto dealer by now but no luck yet. I paid my $1,000 deposit over 2 years ago and nothing so far.
