My allocation story, I am gonna have to make a short story long to set the table here, so I beg your indulgence, go grab some popcorn and a beer if you have the time. I had a 21 year old Boxster S of which I was the single owner, and the same dealer had maintained the car for all 21 years. I LOVED the car and I took it in for its 21st annual maintenance in January.
I also have a 2021 Cayman GTS which I also love, the 2001 Boxster S drove just as well as the GTS in its own way especially considering there is a 21 year gap in the cars’ tech. In all 21 years and 26000 miles I never had to bring it in for unscheduled maintenance, rock solid dependable.
I got a call from the dealer when the Boxster was in the shop asking me if I wished to sell the car, I thought about it and decided that I had the thing for 21 years and how long was I going to keep it? I am 72 and IF I kept it another 21 years I could probably be buried in it. I went and spoke to the dealer and told them I was not opposed to selling it but would like to replace it with a new Boxster GTS. They offered me a good price for the Boxster and the deal was closed, (the car went to a very good home of a collector).
The dealer told me they were pretty sure I could get an allocation, I asked about ADM and my S/A and the sales manager told me no ADM on these type cars unless they were like a GT 3 or Cayenne Turbo GT or something else in that stratosphere that was not too common
Then the boat sank, then the war started, then the other boat had some cars break loose on rough seas, it seemed that if Porsche did not have any bad luck they would not have any luck. So it was a matter of being patient. The dealer got ZERO allocation in the March round but today I received notice that with the second round of allocations I now had an allocation for M/Y 23 BGTS @ MSRP with no ADM, stand up guys, absolutely true to their word.
Why another 4.0 GTS? Simple, perhaps I am wrong –I frequently am, but I think we will not see these types of cars again. Porsche like all manufacturers are being politically pushed into the non-ICE realm and these cars are going to be extinct, before their time in my opinion. I have always been a mid-engine fan, I had a 1971 914/6 at one time, and I think these cars are at the peak of their development. I would rather have the 4.0 coupe and drop top now while they are available then wish I had gotten them 3 years down the road. I cannot imagine what it will be like trying to get one of these things in January of 2024.
I wanted to make the point that there are honorable dealers out there that are not driven by avarice and are not putting the thumbscrews on potential customers. I know some good folks on this forum have been jerked around, but there are truly decent honest dealers out there. True, I have a relation with the dealership but the relation works both ways. Mine is 150 mile round trip and I have always been treated fairly and with respect.
It seems that a lot of the ADM madness is in high-roller east, west coast and upper mid-west dealers. My dealer is no slouch, I’ve seen a 918 roll through there and Carrera GT. I never once considered going to another dealer and there are 3-4 within 200 miles. In closing it is my hope that those waiting on a car will get one a comfortable price point and sooner rather than later.
Wishing you all great drives.

Great to hear that you were able to get an allocation! Best of luck with the build and enjoy the car in good health!
Thank you both. Uncle Dude the GTS is Gentian Blue with a Graphite Blue leather interior. The Boxster will be Aventurine Green with an Agate Gray leather interior as of now.. Options will be pretty much the same on both cars with PASM .

Which dealer is that? I think it's ok to name with such positive experience. I'm in need of one of those...
Any reports of GT4/Spyder allocations? None apparently for mine, they also say they’re the largest volume dealer in my state. Surprising.
I supposedly am getting one this week. Its being finalized tomorrow. Will report back if it turns out to actually be an allocation with a build code and everything or if it just ends up being another waitlist.

I received my 2023 GT4 allocation in mid April (Canada), and it went V200 as of yesterday. Scheduled build is Sept 15. Seems quite random at the moment.

That's the first CDN allocation for a GT4/Spyder I've heard of since back in late January. If you don't mind me asking, what dealer was this? Pfaff?
My dealer is telling me a batch is to be expected in the coming week or two... Keeping my fingers crossed that I finally get to punch my ticket. Totally blows with the MY23 price hike and Luxury tax - basically giving away a set of PCCBs.
Is your dealer selling out of region? My dealer (one of the few Premier dealers in the country) said they are not allowed to sell out of the region right now. Maybe that doesn't apply to non-Premier dealers.

Good for you! What did you actually receive in April? My thoughts are if you now have V200, then back in April you would have just been a deposit/and or order which most dealers take with zero guarantee of anything. If you received V200 yesterday, then really this is a May allocation and possibly news that dealers in Canada got word? Which is odd because no one I have spoken to in Canada has given any out. Assume this has to be Pfaff then.
