Agree 100% on the PASM, they should have stuck with the X73. This new Spyder definitely goes against the 987 Spyder ethos of pure, lightweight and only what’s necessary. Having said that, it’s clearly what the buyer wants since there seems to be solid demand for this new car (I believe).

[QUOTE=DFW01TT;15917193]My build is only 112, but I'm vacillating on brakes./QUOTE]
I'm considering the same color, although with PCCB's, black wheels and black interior. You think my black 981 GT4 wheels would bolt right up? That might save me a few bucks.

Re: Possible PTS on the 718 Spyder???
If any of our readers in this forum obtains information on Porsche's intentions to offer PTS on the 718 Spyder,
please contact me via PM and/or post it on this forum. I have an early allocation (#2) at my P-dealer but I am
discouraged by the fact that 'Lizard Green' was not included as a 'Special Color' for this model likeit was for the
new 991 Speedster.
Any useful & timely information about Porsche's plans (if any) for PTS re: this particular model will
be greatly appreciated. I am also trying to get this information from my dealer & their contacts at
both PCNA & PAG. And I will try also all my sources in Europe...although many of my old contacts
at PAG are no longer there. And of course I will post any information I get on the subject matter
here and at my other PTS threads on Rennlist.
Thank you in advance for the assistance.

The Guards Red looks pretty cool. But, Spyder Classic Interior may not work with it, which I really want. Or, will it? Damn, lack of decent color choices is hurting!
Looks like vast majority of current Spyders (987 and 981) and GT4 drivers aren't biting! That's a bad news. Let's see if that trend changes when press reviews hit the web. If the GTS gets the same engine, as there are strong reports, the sales will tank! If the car sounds as bad as the Euro-spec in the promo videos (or, the Auto Stop/Start impacts the experience), even I would jump off the train!

Although to be fair, given that we're talking about a company whose 50+ year old design is still among the most profitable in the auto industry, that's not exactly a fatal criticism.
Put that engine in a Boxster with a modern transmission and roof and we'll talk. (Yes, I do demand all the engineering I'm paying for. )

Manual only was my biggest surprise. Guess Porsche is forgetting Americans buy autos predominantly. Honestly these cars are slight updates at best for the consumer, not racer. New means a 4 year warranty, Apple CarPlay and such, but the concept isn't new. And as much as I like NA, I feel I'm the odd man out against the vast majority who love forced induction, especially the 718 flock. Porsche is about 2 years late with these, and should have stuffed the 3.0 turbo in them and made them mostly PDK--if they want to sell a bunch of them.

anyone know why gold wheels are not an option on the Spyder?
