Here is the latest mule spotting of the 982 Spyder... Notice that it is wearing the GT4 Wheels and Brakes (potentially Suspension as well)... This latest mule sports the GT4 Side Intake Scoops... The Diffuser is still covered with black tape to hide it's true visual. Also note that it is still wearing the 718 GTS front bumper. Like the 981, expect the bumpers between the Spyder and GT4 to be shared. The final 982 Spyder might not be named GT4, but the gap between the GT4 and Spyder seems to be closing.
I just can't dig the styling of the Spyder and GT4. For any generation. Was really hoping to love the 718 Spyder and GT4 but they are still too garish for my taste. The "regular" 718s are aesthetic perfection.
I chose a 981 BGTS over the 718 solely because the overall experience mattered more to me than the looks. A shame the 3.4 of the 981 didn't make it into the 718. Would have been an easy sell. Curious as to whether I'll consider a 718 Sypder in the future if it comes with a NA flat six...

I personally feel the opposite from you... I prefer the Humps/Streamliner look over the the standard Boxster hatch. Looks are always subjective though and I respect differing opinions.
I'm still on the fence for the visual difference between the 981 and the 982... IMHO, I feel Porsche is moving the Spyder closer to the GT4 to create more demand? Same Engine, Suspension, Wheels, Tires, Bumpers/Diffuser and Interior. Question is if this is the right direction? Spyder praise has always been that the Spyder is a true drivers Porsche. Will this new strategy kill that???

I don't think they're going to do this. The GT cars are all roofed vehicles and meant for racing. The Spyder isn't, and shouldn't be, IMO.
Damn I really like the aggression of that 718 Spyder. Looks great with those wheels too. I would not mind in the least bit if the difference between the GT4 and the Spyder was just in the roof!
If GT4-style side intake scoops make it on to the 982 Spyder, then the 981 Spyder guys that added the scoops to their cars can take credit for showing Porsche the way. They were ahead of their time!
