With your timing from the freeze date to where your car is today, my car would arrive 11/1/2024... even though you got pretty lucky with the ship. And I'd be surprised if I get that lucky. My SA said it's still possible late Sep, like he told me initially. Yeah, right! It's a month away, and just started production. Just being realistic here. But glad you're getting it at any time. Yeeeeey! We'll enjoy it vicariously. Hey, post pics.

With your timing from the freeze date to today applied to my car, even though you got pretty lucky with the ship, it'd arrive 11/1/2024. And I'd be REALLY lucky if that's the case. Ha ha. Oh well. My SA said it's still possible late Sep, like he told me initially. Yeah, right! It's a month away, and just started production. But will wait until car ships, and know the ship's schedule, to update my expectations. At least at that point my window should narrow to maybe 4 weeks, rather than 4 months. But being realistic, there's no way it'd arrive before mid October at the earliest.

Default Just got a VIN

So I just got notified that my car is scheduled for production and they have shared the VIN

how can I tell from the vin if it’s a 2024 or 2025 model year?

Look it up on carfax or any vin look up tool. Free versions are fine. Let us know.

Hey bobcooper, do you have a build sheet? If not, ask your dealer to send it to you. The build sheet has the VIN and MY (model year)

I don’t. This is the first time I’ve ever actually bought a new Porsche so figuring out the process. I’ll reach out to the SA and see if he can get it to me.

congrats on your first Porsche purchase! Be careful, it's an addicting rabbit hole. I'm already on my second!

It’s called a Porsche Build Sheet - Retail.

I’ve never not gotten one.

It’ll have all your details, the car details, dealership, price, MY, etc.

It’ll also have your commission number, think currently if it starts with I then it’s a MY25.

Many dealers have you sign these so there are no option misunderstandings later

I ordered mine back on 4/1/24. The original estimate for arrival at the dealership was the end of June. It finally got to the dealership on 8/13. Following it on the app, it can take 3-4 weeks sitting in the port. There was a long delay at both the loading onto the ship and the unloading off of the ship on mine.

so called Porsche Dealership and got the build sheet. only thing i wasn't quite expecting was the $2K nav option but i'm well past the freeze date. i just entered stage 3 and "est manuf date" is 9/1 with an est delivery date of 11/1.

Not sure what the letter for '25 is (probably 'S'), but for '24, the 10th VIN digit is 'R'. I just checked my current '24 car, and the VIN on my upcoming '24 Cayman, and both have an R, as a further check. Hope this helps.

I'm really bummed, and for something really stupid. Just went to MyPorsche, to check that my VIN had an 'R' on the 10th digit, denoting MY2024 (to help somebody else), and while going down at the bottom of the page, saw all the options on my car, so paid attention to them, and didn't see one I really wanted, which Porsche took away after the 981: Power steering column. Well, it's not there. This is the first (and probably last) car I personally order to my specs, and I was expecting ALL my specs. I don't know if I'm looking for an excuse not having to pay 100 grand for a car (with taxes and accessories), but I wanted that 'luxury' part (along with memory 14-ways, full leather, sport chrono, etc). Saw a page the SA sent me AFTER the freeze date, and didn't catch that... but it wouldn't have mattered. And yes, it absolutely was on the build I sent them (just checked it). Glad I caught it now, to decide what to do, instead of coming as a nasty surprise once there, reaching for the non-existent switch. Ha ha. That might be the reason to just order a '25 locally, especially since this one will surely arrive past the driving season (with summer tires). Oh well. The whole process was disappointing with Austin Porsche, since I never received anything official from them. I had to beg the SA for info, and all I got were partial screen shots of my build.

To be clear, you ordered the power steering column but then saw it was removed at a later point? I thought it was a standard feature with the 14/18-way seats?
