Just depends if there will be a 991.2RS.

Gt2rs will have all the downforce and will need it. I hope
Porsche sees the opportunity and makes the 991.2gt3 elegant like the gen 1 but win some goodies from the RS.

Edit,

Agree with Macca that's unlikely. IMO a missed opportunity to take advantage of current market.

Some surprising numbers (high NA torque and low rpm for peak HP - 100hp more than GT4 with only 200cc more and only 100 rpm higher peak). 45 ft-lbs (15%) more torque than GT4.

These numbers would be exceptionally well suited to a manual 6 spd for the new GT3. Hope they don't try to use a taller Ring and Pinion than the one in the 911R. 911R gearing with this motor should be close to ideal (might give up a tad of potential Vmax, but great acceleration and track set-up).

I am with Macca, you won't see solid lifters on a street car. The days of manual valve adjustment for street cars are over...

I have quite a few of these in my motorcycle collection... , in fact, every motorcycle I own runs solid lifters... let me tell you about the cost and frequency of valve adjustments

I do think the production street car will look somewhat different without the larger cup front splitter, wider fenders, graphics and tow hook eye etc.

No much space left for a number plate (for those of us for which its legal requirement!).

YES thank you, hadn't thought of that, much MUCH better. Those teeth make it look like a cheap tuner solution, or like the sportdesign kit, or like the older 997. Without the teeth it looks very impressive. I like KISS designs for Porsches. You don't make them prettier with adding crap.

Edit: But this is a racecar offcourse, it needs some crap to go fast, and it does not need to be pretty like a streetcar :-)

as stated above about oil lubrication valve train etc.
i don' t think GT3.2 Cup has the same
engine as .1RS

And you are the fool dude.

Had you put in 'GT3 Cup' instead of GT3 in your first post, you would have been the hero. Now it's Zero instead.

Myself, and many others, had been saying since March that the .2 GT3 will be the Geneva 2017 car, what part of it you didn't get?
