After some talk with my source who told me Paris would be the day for the GT3 991.2 he told me that it was planned, but changed the idea because not to loose focus on the new Panamera Hybrid and for some other reasons. They will show it now in Geneva, but it can be ordered some months before. So I am sorry for my wrong posting.

Here something of topic, but interesting to watch, all Nordschleife Webcams on one Site:

Just to pile on with theories, I just heard the car is coming at Frankfurt. USA deliveries in 2017. Presumably they will be MY18 cars. Car will be manual or PDK but I wasn't offered decisive answer on 4L or 3.8L.

My dealer confirmed it will be in Geneva.

Dealers already know the number of cars they'll get.

For my country it's only 3 of .2 GT3 cars for next year.

Ironically I'm currently 4th in the "list" (I know even 1st would mean nothing anyway, as I'm not nearly a VIP)

I know everything that comes from the dealer should be taken with a grain of salt, but I believe this information to be rather true.

30 GT3 cars would be impossible to sell here anyway.

I believe 5-7 would be "spot on" number.

If there will be 30 customers putting their name on the list at your dealership,Porsche will give them 27-28 allocations,I can almost guarantee it! I can't believe people still think they can't get a car and believe the dealer's BS when Porsche proved gen after gen they're in the business of making money and they WILL cover demand,as long as there's a name on it,so there won't be cars sitting on dealer's lots.

Nope. When I came to dealership with my money to order a new GT3 in the spring of 2015, answer was "impossible", so I had to get a used car abroad.

Quite sure it doesn't work that way.. Some markets will only get a handful of cars. Look what happened with the GT4 in the middle east.. they had cars going unaccounted for and ended up shipping them back to fill ROW orders.

Spring of 2015 is very late considering the 991 GT3 was introduced in 2013. On top of that, nobody even suspected at that point that Porsche will make 2016 model cars!
Seriously,it's very simple : if you want one of these cars you put your name down, ideally before it's announced,or at least at the time it's announced and you will get one. Porsche is making a lot of these, you'd have to be living under a rock not to know what's going on... You do have to wait about a year, but so what...

Of course it was an exaggeration of mine, but my point is above. Porsche will not limit these cars,as to put a number on them, they will build quite a large number as proven time and time again. Sure, some markets will get less cars. Why? Only Porsche can answer that, but I'm sure they are doing extensive market research on demand.

I hope so.

I'll see if PAG will take my money this time or I'll get another "impossible".

Just be patient, that's all I'm telling people. Have a good relationship with a dealer, ideally from which you've purchased before, even better, one where you service your car and/or participate to their events. And put your name down with a deposit as early as possible. Then wait wait and wait... I don't even call or email to ask about an update to an allocation : I pretend as I'm totally uninterested of the outcome. If they feel you are eager they will take advantage of you. Please understand they get training on buyer's psychology and ways to manipulate their emotions.

I don't care much if PAG will fail again in getting my money. I love my money and won't beg them to take it. And no, I will NOT participate in events I'm not interested in just to please PAG.
