What was the condition of the paint? Looks like you may have been lucky in that from the start to finish of production(almost 2 months), that time may have been spent indoors rather than outdoors. Looks like you only spent a week out doors at port Emden.
Condition wasn't all that bad. There was dust for sure on the 911, but nothing major. There was some dirt marks below the key area, but that seems to rub out easily. I didn't see anything that a nice detail couldn't remove...
From what I understand (and I can't get any confirmation), but my 911 went into WERK2 for the installation of many of the EM options I selected that can't installed on the line. That's when it got stuck for the chip issue, so I assume it either was in the building for most of the 2 months delay, or sitting in the car park outside of WERK2 building... I recall when watching the weather patterns during the transport from the WERKS2 to the port, it was rainy a bit... Considering all of that, it arrive in pretty nice condition. It was also on the ship for almost 30 days.
Looks like Dione Leader is now arriving 3 days later on 5/14. With RCC Compass scheduled to arrive the 15th, Im wondering if we see a change in its schedule. San Diego is still a "subject to volume" on RCC and I can't see them having two ships back to back to San Diego.
Allocation = Friday 7/28 Change Freeze Point = Tuesday 12/12 (this date got pushed back almost 30 days because I was need the Aero Kit and this was the earliest they would allow). Manufacturing Starting Soon = Tuesday 1/9 Manufacturing Started = 1/18 Manufacturing Complete = Monday 3/11 (delayed for both EM options, and the chip issue) On way to German Port = Tuesday 3/12 Arrived at German Port = Friday 3/15 Left German Port = Saturday 3/23 At Local Entry Port = Monday 4/29 Enroute to my Porsche Center = Wednesday 5/1 Final Preparation for my Pickup = TYD is showing Tuesday 5/7, but dealer tells me it could be Saturday 5/4 or Sunday 5/5
It's going to be the longest Thursday and Friday ever... I really hope I get the call to show up with the check and then drive off with my new 911... First time owner, so this is beyond exciting. I've been waiting to own a Porsche since 1986... All because of this game (yes that is my original 1986 box + disks) and the fourth car from the top.
If what I'm hearing is correct (which I believe it to be 100% correct), it's going to be a special day for existing P owners, and upcoming P owners... It might help elevate the "T"
Good point - that may explain why RCC had SD with the subject to volume footnote. The bright spot is that it seems every time Glovis had SD and/or Benicia flagged as subject to volume, past ships still ended up going to them. These ship schedules are very fluid right now for some reason. But let's see - hopefully the picture will become clearer within next week's Week 19 schedules getting published.
Has your TYD Emden departure date of 05/06 changed yet?

Dropped my car off at the PPF place this morning. They confirmed that I should get at least a stage 1 paint correction. Mostly minor light swirls but nothing major that a stage 1 paint correction can't fix.

its a shame on a brand new car. Were you sitting at port for long?

I finally picked it up today and I am just staggered at how good it is. I can't wait for the rest of you to get your cars and I hope you have as great a day as I did.

A very big congratulations. Very similar to my incoming GB C2S to San Diego 5/23. Not that I’m looking at Glovis Leader on a daily basis… no, not me
Congrats and happy graduation! Nice shade of blue. And you won the Michelin lottery too!
Once your car landed in Benicia, would you mind sharing on how long it took to arrive in Seattle?
