I remember reading ksk's post on moving to 987 from 981 to save some $, now he should be able to buy back that 981 with the proceeds, how things have changed!
I agree that's a very nice CR. It doesn't have the side "PORSCHE" decal stripes. I guess it must have been painted out by a previous owner?
I 99% sure you could option the decal delete from the factory. That's a great looking Cayman R, price seems reasonable (in this market) too. If I was in the market I'd be pursuing this one... and then swap in a set of Recaro Sportsters.
You're basing this on the carfax? That should never be your measure of maintenance history, as it will never be comprehensive. It's had more than 4 in my ownership alone.

Makes sense. But I don't see that reflected in the vinanalytics option list for this Cayman. Black and Aqua Blue Cayman Rs do have a "519 Contrast Color Silver" on the vinanalytics, but white, silver, yellow, red Cayman Rs do not have a similar option listed for their black contrasting color.
Its possible the original owner of this silver car didn't like the side stripe (e.g., didn't want to appear to be advertising to the world that he drives a Porsche, for example) and had it removed, while leaving the black rear wing, side vents and mirrors.

This is true. My car was a decal delete from the factory. If you want to add them back, they're about $1K if memory serves.
I felt like she'd get to $105-110. Bummer for me, but a great deal for the buyer. At the end of the day, it's about the home she'll end up at...hopefully the care she's received will continue!

I’m with you, Kareem. I thought it would definitely set a new 987 Spyder record, and the final bid would end up around 115k. The new caretaker also has a Spyder with less miles than this silver beauty, so it sounds like it will be going to a great home. Hopefully the new owner is on here, and can chime in with pictures of both cars in the near future.
